  1. California Assembly to Consider Severe
    Restrictions on Ammunition Sales!
Stand Up and Make Your Voice Heard Today!

Next Wednesday, March 25, the Assembly Public Safety Committee will consider legislation that would require gun owners to obtain a “permit-to-purchase†before buying handgun ammunition.

Introduced by State Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), Assembly Bill 2062 puts ammunition sales in the crosshairs. AB2062 would require that law-abiding gun owners obtain a permit to buy handgun ammunition and would impose severe restrictions on the private transfers of handgun ammunition. Applicants for a “permit-to-purchase†would be required to submit to a background check, pay a $35 fee, and wait as long as 30 days to receive the permit.

Under AB2062, it would be unlawful to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor†in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require vendors to keep a record of the transaction including the ammunition buyer’s name, driver’s license, the quantity, caliber and type of ammunition purchased, and right thumbprint, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice or the number of his handgun ammunition purchase permit. Vendors would be required to contact the purchase permit database, to verify the validity of a permit before completing a sale. All ammunition sales in the State of California would be subject to a $3 per transaction tax. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited. Any violator of AB2062 would be subject to civil fines.

This is where I see the new Front of the anti-gunners. The second ammendment does not specify ammunition Rights. Many states are mulling ammunition bans, amunition micro coding, amunition restrictions/limits, ect. Once they make it difficult/too costly to buy ammo, the number of people involved in the "shooting sports" will shrink. As this number shrinks so will the "gun lobby's" power and influence. It will also splinter gun people on the topic. The rifle guys will not be so concerned with a handgun ammo ban/restriction, and the shotgun guys will not care about the rifle/handgun ammo bans/restrictions.

  4. And the sad thing is that people will keep killing other people, that will never change, its the nature of the beast

    Christ on a Crutch,
Who the heck voted those IDIOTS into orfice. Did you wankers actually become a Socialist State and not tell anyone. First the dirt bag Pervs running around San Fransicko, then you sell/lease ALAMEDA to the damn Chinese, You people need to split that state in 1/2. Sacrifice your beaches and give everything south of Scrotemmento back to Mexico, heck they own it already (the world will not miss Hollywierd), and you can't afford the blackmail, Sorry I ment welfare costs anyway. Then put a big DAM in that waterway you let run to the south for free and make them pay thru the nose for water. What are they gonna do threaten to sue you, assault you with a Gucci handbag.
What ever you do, DO NOT MOVE HERE. We have enough whinny liberal nut cases moving here from the Northeast and Chicago. They want here to be like back home. Why can't they just stay in the rats nest they created, why do they think they need to turn the rest of the country in a crapper.

Sorry Rant is over, I almost feel better. Damn I never should have given up booz, I want a BEER.

  8. It's ok, crime will wait til monday so you can go and get apurchase permit to buy ammo!!!! Hope the politicians get it first so the rest of us can make logical laws that work!! GOOD LUCK GUYS!!!! I guess we need to start making Bad a$$ handguns that use 30-30 or 308 rounds!!!!!! How about a semi-auto pistol that shoots 12ga slugs!!!!! Of course if it uses rifel ammmo it must be safer right.

  9. It's a long story, but if you go back and study CA politics over the last few decades, the Republicans narrowed their focus so much that most voters couldn't support them. I'll not start an argument here but if you look, you'll figure out what the history is. This led to the current situation--the Democrats control everything and the liberal dem leaders call all the shots. Arnie turned out to be other than he claimed in the campaign before his election.

  10. Pray for us Caleeeforneeea people with comon sense. I grew uo in SoCal with all of the Orange County Republicans & Democrats who have never understood what the 2nd ammendment is, or that there even is one. The anti gun morons down there don't run along party lines. Thankfully I'm in Northern Ca now with like minded people. Give SoCal back to Mexico, then lock the gate on a gigantic electrified fence protected by a huge alligator trench!

    Gary

P.S. Don't forget plenty of razor wire and a mine field!

    Holy Sh*t!

You people in CA have had pretty little bows put in your hair, dressed in a silk gown, than bent over and railed up the ass with a whale penis!

I am glad I live in Oregon, although if those crazy ass politicians start wondering up this way things will get ugly as a prostitutes back side after an all nighter with 15 men!

    On a more professional note..

Wouldn't ammunition be part of "arms" and the right to bare them? I would consider the rifle and the ammunition to be part of a persons arms...

anyways...crazy crazy crazy. For awhile there I though old Arnie was doing well...

IMHO, California and the rest of the more restrictive states need to be careful. I fail to see what legislation ever does to stop crime or violence. The AWB was a joke that only penalized law abiding citizens, concealed carry is for responsible citizens (not thugs). Adding more restrictions to the purchase of ammo is going to do nothing more than make a lot of good people mad. Worst case scenario would be that crimial organizations move in to supply ammo just like a drug cartel. We all know that people who are going to use a gun to commit a crime are not concerned with buying a gun legally...or ammo for that matter!

  17. These days, there's more power in a good video camera than any rifle or handgun, if you know what you're doing.

it doesn't sound like they are trying to get you to stop buying handgun ammo, they are just trying to make you pay for the 'privilege'.
BS all the way. I'll stay away from the Republik. Not even for a visit.
