I bought this knife for $7.75 with free shipping. It has spring assist, glass breaker, seat belt cutter. I was pleasantly surprised with it when it arrived yesterday. I'm not sure how well it will hold an edge, but it is sharp.

It is branded "Vulcan Gear". The blade is 4" long.

I may buy a couple more just to have in my vehicles.

A functional cheap knife is good to keep in the truck and other places you might need one. I bought a good number of Cold Steel Kudu knives for that purpose. The blades are razor sharp, but they're made of surgical steel, so they won't hold the edges for a long time. On the other hand, they won't rust sitting in the tool box. With that being said, the point of having knives like these is to have them for those times when the primary knife isn't available. Even if they won't hold an edge forever, they aren't primaries, which means they'll be fine for those occasional uses.

I have several knives that cost a lot more. Like my Kershaw, Spydrco and CRKT knives for instance.
But my favorites are the cheap Mtech knives (similar to yours) on eBay that sell for around what you paid.
OK so the steel is not the best and they need regular sharpening but.......
The spring asst works better than my CRKT. They feel nice in hand. They cut.
If it breaks (which after years of use they have not) or gets lost who cares.

The only negative about these knives is the claim that they have a seat belt cutter.
I highly doubt the seat belt cutter could cut a seat belt.
Never in my long life have I ever had to cut a seat belt.
If I did have to cut a seat belt the blade is sharp enough to do that.
Who is ever going to see if that claim is accurate by cutting their seat belt.
Guess you could go to a car junk yard and try and see if it works.

I have the cheap knives in the basement, bedroom, garage, car etc.
Expensive knives in the safe with my guns.

Even bought a dozen credit card knives for $10 and gave them to friends.
They're sharp. One friend was driving long distance and wanted to cut a peach.
Another needed to cut a rope. Both remembered they had a knife in their wallet.

I keep a knife and shovel in each of my vehicles. You will use them more than you think you will.

I have had good luck with the Ozark Trail Multiforce Multi Tool and keep one in each of my vehicles. Best $38 you will ever spend. Comparable to the Leatherman Wave while being almost $100 cheaper.

One is none and two is one.

I've used my credit card knife several times just to impress my friends.
Now they have cc knives of their own.

I also keep a multitool (Leatherman) and a cheap knife with glass breaker and seat belt cutter in my car. Ya' just never know. My EDC is a Spyderco Endura 4 combo blackout. I agree with the comment about the Leatherman. While it IS a fine multitool there a some that are just as high quality and capable for much less.

Bought the cc knives on a lark due to the cheap price.
Was surprised how sharp they are plus they fit low profile in my wallet.
Usually carry a CRKT M16-01KS. Was at Lowes and needed to cut twine
to tie a chair in the trunk. That cutting edge on Lowe's twine spool is a joke.
Be easier to cut the twine with my belt. Forgot to take my CRKT knife
fortunately had the the cc knife and "zip" cut.

Have a Craftsman multi tool in the trunk. It doesn't have all the things that are on greg-r's.
Jeez with his you can perform open heart surgery and install a new transmission.

I have about 4 knives in every vehicle, one small multi-tool with knife on each key chain, one full size multi tool in each vehicle, plus whatever is in my pocket or on my belt. And probably another knife or two in a tool box or socket set, plus the knife and tool in the GHB...almost forgot those.
The multi tools are Gerber or Leatherman...I’ve had cheap ones....they suck, they break, they bend, they pinch, and they suck.
I have a folder in the glove box, a folder in the console, a fixed blade Mora in the door pocket, and a fixed blade neck knife hanging behind the seat. Oh...plus the Gerber hatchet with a saw in the handle under the seat.
They are just part of my vehicles.
And I do actually have that credit card knife in my wallet. Same $10 pack as rerun, I think.

The only multi tool I have ever broken is a Leatherman. The Leatherman Wave. Snapped one jaw of the pliers right off. On the plus side Leatherman replaced it.

I found out about the Ozark Trail Multiforce when building a Bushcraft bag using only stuff that I could find at Walmart and centered around Ozark Trail. The object was not to buy the cheapest I could buy, but the best Walmart had to offer. Short story....I was impressed.

As to the Multiforce, it’s an obvious knockoff of the Leatherman Wave. And a quality tool. If I do break it, it likely means buying another, although Walmart is pretty good about returns. Not knocking Leatherman, I own three of them. A multi tool must have 3 things for me to want one, an outside opening blade, an outside opening saw, and a pair of scissors. And I do agree that most of the cheap multi tools are garbage. What’s my favorite multi tool? The SAK Farmer X.

Anyways, the Multiforce rides in the console of each of my vehicles, a Gerber Prodogy in the drivers side door, and a USGI E-Tool in the trunk, except for my every day driver, which gets a Cold Steel copy of the Spetznaz shovel.

The only negative about these knives is the claim that they have a seat belt cutter.
I highly doubt the seat belt cutter could cut a seat belt.
I have given a seat belt cutter / glass breaker tool to the wife and both of my daughters. They will slice through a seat belt easily, but the seat belt has to be tight, as it will likely will be if it ever needs to be used.

I like the versatility of the SAK's.

I own both the Camper and Huntsman.

The Huntsman has everything the Camper has plus Scissors. I use the Scissors more than the knife blades.

What’s my favorite multi tool? The SAK Farmer
I just can’t get behind the SAK as a “multi tool”. It’s a knife. They didn’t call the old mechanics knife with a can opener and a screwdriver blade a multi tool. They don’t even call it the Swiss Army Multitool.....it’s a knife. A knife blade is still the main thing on it.
I have two versions of the Trekker, one old one with a side lock, and a newer liner lock, a 120 sized Ranger, and an Evolution. They’re pretty good kit.
I’m not too worried about how the knife opens in a multi tool. Really, I don’t even care if a multitool HAS a knife. I have knives for that.

That thinking could apply to any multi-tool.

I stand with Rerun.

Except “multi tools“ are tools with a knife, the knife is usually secondary to the whole thing.

The SAK is a knife, with some tools. The knife is the main player, and everything is built around it, even on those stupid super thick ones.
These are knives.

Yep, I agree about the scissors.
I actually have an old Gerber that’s a thin knife, with scissors and nothing else. It’s pretty rare.

And pliers are my most used part of a multitool.

These are multi tools. Except maybe that silly spoon fork hobo knife thing

I will defer to Victorinox. They make them and call them tools.

The Camper has tools that support the knives:

I see tools on this multitool other than knives.

Saw, different screwdriver tips, awl, reamer, corkscrew, tweezers, toothpick, can opener, bottle opener.

On this model:

One can see scissors, nail file, and other tools as well.

Whereas a knife has but one function - to cut...

Or, stab.

Sure. They have tools in them. Modern advertising wants to emphasize that. And a knife is a tool, after all.

But they are still Swiss Army KNIVES, aren’t they. Even in your picture, rerun....camper KNIFE.

I had a Victrorinox with a serrated main blade. I got that as a Christmas gift from a friend. Bought it at Radio Shack of all places!

@greg_r still got your Glock with the root saw?
