was at wal mart the other day and saw a 30 buck Tasco Pro Point , did a quick review check on my phone and saw that it is indeed a decent red dot . installed it today , sighted it in and put a total of 150 rounds thru the gun. im pretty impressed . only took a few shots to get it dialed in , and at 50 yds it tore a hole from the center of the target . i removed my irons completely and i hated having to do that , but there wasnt room unless i wanted to raise it up far above the center of the bore . i like back up sights and may eventually get something or maybe cut down the sides of the factory rear sight to allow room . but for now , its all good . and accurate ! kept zero thru the whole session. cant wait to see how it does long term.

That's a good deal for $30, but the Hi-Points already prove price and performance don't always go hand in hand. Keep us updated on how it holds zero and battery life, That's all that would bother me is the battery going dead and no sights.

Even if you put a riser onto the rail and not use a see-through riser to help with iron sights, it'll do no good.

If you do go this route with using see-through rings/riser, you'll probably also need a cheek riser to help with neck strain to keep a good cheek weld.

I just thought. Are you gonna do a full or 1/3 witness?

Couldn't do or find an "edit" for my last post, so had to make a new reply.

He can take off the red dot sight if he wishes to get back to his iron sights if he had to. But you will want to zero the iron sights before putting on the red dot sight.
