    Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you all are having, or had a great day!
    Since my wife has literally taken possession of my 995, I decided to get her a couple of gifts for it. I got her "Barbie Gun" the Hi Point collapsible forward grip and two spare mags. Boy, she loves 'em.
    She got me an Archangel stock for my Mosin Nagant and two 10 round mags, too!.
    I guess the best thing is that now I get to buy another HP Carbine since she took mine....now the only question is, do I get another 995, a 4095 or the 4595? The 9mm is cheapest to shoot, but the .40 is an excellent round. I love shooting my 1911 but the ammo is spendy. Decisions, decisions...

    You're going to love that Archangel stock the first time you use it. It makes a world of difference. While 2 MOA is not world class, when it comes from a 70 year-old rifle with iron sights, shooting 40 year-old surplus ammo, that's not half bad--at least not to me. You can see the last 5 rounds at 100 yards were all pretty close to the bulls-eye, even if the last round opened it up.

    That stock is a big help.

    LOL!...No, I heard that term used for the AR platform since there are so many accessories you can buy for them....just like the Barbie dolls. My wife is definitely not into pink guns!

    I hope to try it out at the range this Saturday. I will say the Archangel stock feels more comfortable and fits me better than the original stock does. I left out the little cradle that goes under the barrel so it could free float. We'll see if I get better groups although most of my shooting with it has just been casual at paper out to 50 yards and a steel at about 200 yards.
    Right now, however, I'm shopping for a new Carbine....leaning toward the .40!

    I left it out of mine so that it could free float, too. The instructions actually suggested doing that, first, and the company's suggestion is a good one.

    40 S&W, more ME, better velocity, cheaper ammo, holds 10 instead of 9 rounds... If I were only buying 1, it would be the "fouty" :D
    But I have both, actually all 3 carbines :D

    So get one of each! :cool:

    We gave two 9mm carbines. It was a no brainer for us. All of my primary carry pistols are 9mm and we already had a 9mm carbine. I always can find a 1,000 rounds of 9mm ammo on the cheap. I was able to buy 9mm on the cheap way before anyone was buying stuff online. I was willing to buy a case of ammo at cost to help an LGS build up their account or order factory direct.

    I have friends who have a bunch of different calibers. Most of the time they only have a small amount of ammo for the gun they need right now and 22lr ammo. All the rest of their guns are dust catchers. It is hard to focus and select a caliber to buy in bulk when you need five different calibers.

    Makes good sense to have multiple firearms in the same caliber or mm. I hear people say, I want a .40 or .45acp for more knock down power. Who they gonna knock down? Targets don't need more knock down power. I know, it's in case the person has to shoot a bad guy. Most of you know the odds of that happening. Anyway here is a link to stopping power.

    That's why I buy all ammo in bulk when I purchase. I don't have to play favorites that way.

    I also don't want to be labeled a "caliberist". ;)

    An update on my new Archangel stock. While at the range last Saturday I was banging away with the Mosin and trying to figure out why the magazines were being difficult to seat. I got them to seat and feed ok and after going thru two 10 round and one 5 round mags, I noticed a small spring on the bench. Where'd that come from says me....? Turns out its the spring for the mag release and when I turned the rifle on its side, the mag release pivot pin fell out onto the bench. Naturally, the release lever fell out, too.

    I couldn't fix it there since the hole in the stock is too big for the pin to stay in by itself (it just falls right thru), I'll have to put a dab of glue over the ends of the pin to retain it.
    Other than that, I really like the stock so far.
