Not posted, pager pal is one of those holsters that's good for it does. It's great at concealing a pistol... just don't count on drawing very quickly from it. The video demos show fast draws, but I found that you need to have a bunch of circumstances just right to get it that quick (pants not sagging too much, shirt being tucked in just right, etc. etc. etc.).

We had a shooting at a church here in Colorado Springs. I think it was a security guard that took the guy out..... Not sure though I was out of town when t happened.... I will see if I can find the article.

We also cannot fish for whales here in Utah... I'm thinking we're going to be overrun by them unless they change that law.

Anyway, on the serious side, I just found out that my church doesn't allow you to carry in church. I'm finding that very frustrating, and trying to decide what to do. It's not so much that I feel unsafe at church, as it is that I don't like anybody telling me when it's okay for me to be armed. If I'm going to end up a victim, it's going to be through my own decisions, not somebody else's

Here's what made me decide: if some loony breaks in and starts killing people left and right, I'll never forgive myself for not carrying and thus not being able to take him out. I'd still try and stop him, don't get me wrong, but un-armed I'd most likely get mowed down before I even got close.

I don't and won't carrying in church. I personally don't feel the need to. Here in my neck of the woods, the threats of violence in church can be real only if I start snoring.

I'm sure 6 dead folks, and the other 8 dead in Texas, and two 2 dead in Colorado felt just as secure in their necks of the woods as you do.

Luke 22:36
: Luke 22:36: JESUS said "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one."
Jesus' disciples were always armed. The times have changed, Jesus and his disciples, in this time would carry, plain and simple. I think they would all carry Uzi SMGs ! Sorry is that Ethnic profiling?

Simon Peter loped off Malchus' ear with a sword in Luke 22:49-51! Then Jesus broke up the fight and did some kind of plastic surgery to re-attach it.
Ok that enough pulpit, just carry something appropriate. DON'T sling a Galil over your shoulder and you also dont need 15+ rounds for a lone idiot who may want to invade your church, synagog, temple, mosque or what ever. A small revolver with nice holster that doesn't attract attention, like your snoring or the kids screaming will do well.
God Bless!

I know alot of the culture in my faith is that when you are at Temple, it is the obligation of the Monks to protect all who enter their gates, be them followers or not and to invite all who need help into the same gates. It is strongly frowned upon to ever enter a Temple armed, although never forbidden. It's considered a sign of distrust and fear to carry "heavy" at any Temple.

As another bit of trivia: Many older monks are actually retired soldiers who take the path after their term of service is over in Southeast Asia and Japan. There have been reports in Indonesia of Islamic extremists trying to raid temples only to be disarmed and handed over to the police by the monks themselves. The funny part is that not one shot is ever fired.

Says something about either the skill and intelect of the monks or the stupidity of the criminals...

Illegal in TX to carry in a Church, Bar, Post Office or Federally Owned/Leased Bldg/Park.

It's rare to find me in a bar, I dont go to church, and we have a privately owned mail store instead of Post Office so there's not much reason for me to ever disarm.

I don't carry in church. The way Georgia law is written, you can't take your weapon to a public gathering -- you can go to where there is a gathering of the public like the mall, but an official public gathering is out -- and church is one of them. And, that's just the way that is for me.

I don't know if I would carry to church if I could. I know my Pastor goes hunting, but carries? I can't speak on that. I would feel kind of vexed or jaded if a minister carried. Kinda strange, huh? I believe in self defense, but I would feel strange if a minster would have a deadly weapon that could be used to kill someone if something went down. That job should be for body guards, but ministers, themselves, should not have to do so. It just goes contrary to the spirit.

As far as myself... hey... I'm willing to die by the sword if I'm willing to live by the sword, y'know. As long as I come to that understanding up front, I'm good with myself carrying.

Well, in Missouri it's not a crime to do so. All they can do you is ask you to leave, and you face a $100 fine if you refuse to do so and a peace officer has to escort you out. So I'm not worried about breaking the law (I carried in a posted area when I was with a friend who's car didn't lock; I didn't want to leave it in the supermarket parking lot in an unlocked car). I just feel about this the same way I do about not cursing in front of women or children, being polite to my grandma even when she's going on one of her tirades, etc. Now though you have me wondering... maybe it's time to bust out the PagerPal again?
I also live in Mo and was under the impression that church was a nono.
What am I not remembering correctly?
