i find myself faslling back on the SPORTS drills i learned in the army

Slap upward on the magazine
Pull backward on the alide
Observe the ejection port and clear if needed
Release the slide
Tap the back of the slide to assure battery
Squeeze the trigger

New to Pistols period ---
Picked up my new HP 9mmc and a Beretta Neos U22 today
will be going to the range when I can get some experienced help

Daughter and son in law also want to learn

Great video. Probaly "old hat" to the vets here but was very instructional to a noobe to autos. Thanks for posting it. I've seen the circle of scholars at the range and never felt that was a safe practice.

That video has just cleared up a lot for me, and I don't even have the gun in my possession yet. However, I now have this almost overwhelming desire to run over to Wendy's and get myself a burger and fries. :D

The JHP is my first foray into autos so it was very educational for me. I'm afraid I would have been one of those in the circle not considering the possible danger. :-[ Of course, this forum is very educational for me too!

I didn't see any HP guns on there. I'm sure that works on all semiauto hand guns. I'll have to try that next time I'm outside. He does make it look so easy.
