When Cobra was founded, they took some of the old Davis and Lorcin tooling to manufacture their pistols. When buying a magazine for a "Cobra .380" you have to be sure which magazine you are buying.

There were THREE Cobra pistols chambered in .380 as follows:
Cobra CA380 - which is the old Davis P32 & P380 tooling (and takes the same magazine)
Cobra FS380 - which is the old Lorcin L32 & L380 tooling (and takes the same magazine)
(BTW the above pistols used the same magazine for .380 and .32ACP)
Cobra Patriot .380 - a brand new design for Cobra, but essentially a ripoff Keltec's P11 design -and uses a double stack mag. Magazines for Cobra's Patriot .380 and Patriot 9 are not used interchangeably; the .380 magazine is a bit smaller.

@Public_Domain hopefully this will help your friend narrow down which magazine he needs.
