I am an avid coffee drinker. I generally take my coffee strong and black (Death Wish Coffee anyone?) but sometimes I get into a festive mood and drink something with a little flavor in it.

A couple of weeks ago I spied a flavored coffee I had never seen before. Carmel/Apple Pie. I figured it would be sickening sweet, but I bought it anyways, figuring it just might fit in with a crisp fall morning.

I had a cuppa last Sunday morning and am enjoying another this morning. It’s actually a pretty good drink. Not sweet at all with just a hint of caramel and apple pie aftertaste.

My second cup will be Death Wish, but a single cup of Caramel/ApplePie is not a bad way to start the day.

Folgers. Boil water in the kettle, pour over carafe, simple set up. I do like a tiny splash of sugar free hazelnut syrup.

I used to buy the spendier stuff in the little vacuum sealed bags, but husband likes folgers, period. And I like having all the coffee cans. They hold brass, tools, parts, bits and baubles. Cracked corn for my critters.

I like the Folgers containers for painting. The lids keep it from drying out too quickly.

Sweetie is particular about her coffee, it doesn't really matter much to me one way or another.
If we're talking an blank slate -meaning I'm buying the coffee for me and me alone, it'll be some sort of a dark roast.

What drives people crazy around me is that I take my coffee differently from day to day, even from cup to cup. I might start off with cream in it, and the next cup I'll drink it black. Sometimes with a sweetener, sometimes super sweet. My favorite waitress at our local breakfast place tells me my coffee habits are extremely abnormal and she's fascinated. Meh.

Folgers, or Great Value. I use the reusable baskets with the screens. Put coffee in, stir in with a fork ground cinnamon, dribble of bakers vanilla, then brew.

I hate the over priced burnt Starbucks junk.

Black Rifle Coffee for me. Local brand here in Dallas, plus I like the name. I will admit that once or twice during the holidays I do like a pumpkin spice latte.

If I was gifted some black rifle I'd probably drink it because why waste it? But I feel less inclined to purchase any once I found out about all their top people donating to anti 2-A candidates.

I like that Lavazza extra bold blend with the green lettering, but when I want some flavor, Eight-O'Clock hazelnut or vanilla is good stuff. I also drink other brands of the extra bold and add a couple dashes of cinnamon to the grounds in the filter. That Bengal Spice tea is also a really good flavor enhancer in the grounds. Just toss a bag on top of them.

While I’ve always love the smell of coffee, I have never liked the taste. Not cheap coffee, not coffee/espresso made from imported $400 1/2kilo bricks (crazy brother…).

Which makes it kind of funny that I was a coffee taste tester for a good ten years, once a month. They actually wanted people like me because we are unbiased and just rate the samples based on the criteria being tested.

Don’t hate me, but I also REALLY don’t like bourbons, scotches, whiskeys.

@Pistolkitty sounds like she is unplugged from the world for a big part of the time lately. Lucky girl!

I like my coffee black. I will add sugar if it tastes burnt.

We get blueberry cobbler coffee sometimes. I love the smell of it. It doesn't have the shitty aftertaste most flavored coffee has.

Maxwell House. Black. Good to the last drop.
I drank some of that back in 1962. I was 5. It has an awful after taste to me. It's why I didn't drink coffee until the 1990's. I think Cracker Barrel serves it.

It originated at the Maxwell House hotel in Nashville. Same hotel Nathan Bedford Forrest went to in 1867.

I bounce between brands. 8 o'clock when I had a grinder, folgers coffeehouse blend, maxwell house original roast, great value classic roast, and great value donut shop. Mostly medium/dark blends.
