Colt Announces A Bolt Action Rifle - The CBX Precision Rifle System! -

In a surprising turn of events, Colt announced the introduction of a bolt-action precision rifle. Since CZ’s acquisition of Colt in 2021, we have wondered in what directions we’d see Colt move and now it seems that Colt will be leveraging some of CZ’s existing expertise in precision bolt action rifle design. The CBX Precision Rifle utilises a bolt design from the CZ 600 series of rifles, pairing it with a new aluminum chassis system developed with MDT which has a 6 o’clock ACRA rail and 3 and 9 o’clock M-LOK slots.

Treglia. The CBX Precision Rifle is available at Colt now at dealers nationwide.

  • Corrosion-resistant black nitride barrel finish

  • Ergonomic 2-position safety
  • 60-degree bolt throw for faster cycling times and increased optic compatibility

  • Extended 15-inch fore-end with Arca rail and M-Lok slots
  • Aggressive barricade stop
  • User-adjustable trigger from 2.5 to 5 pounds
  • Pistol grip, thumb shelf, QD cups, ambidextrous magazine latch

Colt fanbois will cream, the rest of the gun guys will keep buying less expensive proven systems.

But it’s nice that Colt/CZ is doing something new.

I wonder how it compares to the Ruger Precision?
I'll have to wait until I get into better service to look up pics.

That means I have to remember to look up pics when I get into town later.

I need to start keeping an internet list. I don't know how many times I've said "I'll look that up when we get to town and it'll actually load in a timely fashion" followed later when we get back home by "Shit, I forgot to look that up when we were in town."

I am seeing more and more 6.5 x 48 Creedmoor on the ammo shelves in stores. Someone I know just got a 6.5 x 48 rifle. It is a round that is somewhat common now in my opinion. I wonder if the price of it will come down to around .308 Winchester? The 30-30 round appears to be slowly dying while 6.5 x 48 ammunition gains popularity.

True, you don't see many people with a 30-30 that don't either have grandkids or inherited it from a grandparent.

6.5 CM is being pushed out by the gun media crowd.

The prices got stupid during Covid, and the gun media started dumping all over it...."it's no better than the 260 Rem", or "insert other old ammo here", it won't shoot "insert silly overweight bullet here", and "you don't want the 6.5 CM, that's a boutique keyboard warrior gun, pushed by Hornady schills; real shooters prefer X, Y and Z..." "There's no good 6.5 hunting bullets out there"...etc.

Everyone I know that has one loves it....but you can't find ammo in stores, and if you order it, it's ridiculously expensive.

Meanwhile many of the real target guys are looking at the 6 mm bullets, and leaving the 6.5 behind.

No worse than the Glock fanbois with their new AR. I doubt I would get one, I might, I've been looking hard at a precision bolt rifle for the AT&T type stuff now that I'm looking at having 900+ acres to hunt on.

I just happy it's not another "new" AR.

The .300 AAC Blackout is another rifle cartridge that is now common in my opinion. It is the 2nd most popular AR-15 rifle cartridge in my opinion. It has been around 12 years and seems to continue to get more popular. 80 grain all the way to 220 grain bullets for a variety of shooting purposes. I sold mine but I preferred the 100 to 125 grain ammo shooting from a 16 inch barrel.

IMHO, 300 BO is only really any better than 350 Legend if you are suppressing the Black Out. I know there are bullet options and all that, I’m talking in the general overall sense.
