Not sure where this should go, but I've been wondering about compliance of homemade parts. I don't mean FCGs or anything, but for example, if I made a buttstock, pistol grip or handguards for my AK, would they be concidered American made compliance parts? What about ATI stuff compared to Tapco? ATI claims that their parts are made here, but they're not stamped "Made in USA" that I can find, do they still count as compliance parts, or is this a grey area?
What about muzzle brakes? If I had a mill and made my own, would that be ok for US parts count?
Just kinda got to thinking on the subject, and thought this might be a good place to ask.

That's kinda what I was thinking with stamping, but couldn't someone just stamp unmarked Chinese parts too? I was thinking that for what it costs to buy all of the required parts to be compliant, I could easily make a buttstock, and pistol grip for an AK over a weekend or 2, and help my parts count with a fun project... maybe make the stock a little longer, or try something different...
