Considering switching to micro .45 for CCW, suggestions?

I'm loosely considering switching from my pocket .380 to a compact or micro .45 for carry.
Also considering carrying my CZ52 but hollow points in 7.62x25 are like hen's teeth right now.
I'm experimenting with an adapted Tokarev skeleton hokster but not quite happy with it yet.
Since I have a JHP I'd like a micro .45 like the Para Warthog.
Really like the Warthog but no way I can hack the $700-$800 price tag.
I'm not really familiar with compact or micro guns in .45
I know the AMT Backup in .45 but haven't found one anywhere either.
So any suggestions on reasonably priced compact or micro .45's?

  2. There aren't a ton of options there.

Most popular right now is Springfield XDS

or the super tiny "Double Tap"

I would not want a Double Tap, and if I get one as a gift (impossible) I would sell it (done deal!)

    Here's a neat blog I follow, PG&G

He got a real unintended "Double Tap" with that thing!

I EDC a RIA 1911CS. Recoil is very manageable, weight and size is perfect for CC, and it is series 70 internals. Cost is very reasonable and it is very well manufactured.

    My personal recommendation

    would be either a GLOCK G30, G36, or(GASP ) a G39.

I'm with flashbang on the RIA. I've never shot one, but they review very well and seem to be considered the best low end 1911s. I got rid of my JHP, so I am now in need of a 45 auto. It will very likely be a RIA government unless something better comes along used.

Once I get back to work (likely next week) I am buying a new Rock.
2011 Double Stack ;) shortly thereafter. +1 on the RIA but I think
Swaga is actually looking for something smaller

Good luck with that duster. Most people think their 1911's are worth more used than new.

The Springfield XD line has a 3" subcompact in .45, I have the .40 version, its accurate, easy to control, dependable...and I got it used with case, mag loader, two mags and holster for UNDER $400 OTD.;)

Lots of stuff on Hoosier Topics is like that, but most people are assuming you will negotiate. I hit a couple of folks with a "That's right at MSRP" and they countered lower right away, and/or revealed that it had included extras tat were not listed. That is very common.

YEAH, But you deserve it! ;)

I believe I have seen that size RIA around here for the low $400 range.
Hit the 'web for Black Friday deals, and as I understand it, a Rock will not disappoint  Like I said, I am getting one as soon as I get back to werkz...

  19. Not just the price, but a complicated design with a lot of moving parts.

    Noooooooo thank you!

Personally, being a 45 acp 1911 fan IMO 9mm is just as good a stopper as 45 acp. For a pocket pistol I would go with the 9mm before the 45 acp, unless it was in a derringer.
