So just watching a segment with this 18 year old experiencing “severe” depression after missing graduation and prom....I know this was on the Corona News Network but REALLY?!
WTF is going on with this generation.
Buckle up buttercup, life is about to happen.

Yeah, it’s ridiculous. We went out of our way to do a graduation in parts and have the local ISP internet TV station put together a video. It will be shown at the time the graduation would have been, on line so anyone in the world can tune in and watch it, and kids and parents are still pissed at the world.

Meanwhile, we know guys that graduated with free passes to SE Asia in their pockets, and THIS group feels like they got a raw deal? Losing respect fast for some of them.

Sunday is Graduation here. No Graduation party's. So of it's not Raining which is a possibility we are having a BBQ at our house for just family. Graduation/off to College party in August

My kid told his friends that were bitching about the guys going to Vietnam.

Me I was off to Basic 7 days after Graduation.

"Entitled" is the word you are all looking for. It's a national pandemic and we'll have to close the country down until we find a vaccine. Yeah, it's here too

They did graduation here. Limited to 4 guests per grad. Used the football stadium to spread everybody out. Threw a graduation party of sorts too. They did a Cruise night where virtually the entire town showed up and drove through town. My buddy's niece graduated and he's a DJ so we set up in his front yard across from the park and threw a graduation block party. 4 or 5 other grads live around the park so they had their groups out front, and random neighborhood folks were dancing in the park. Cops showed up to shut it down around 11.

Sounds great, Rach. Adolf Volf and Dr. It have declared the there will be no graduations this year. Blanket statement. Der Furher is running a one man show, despite growing resistance even from the left. I'm waiting for the travel papers declaration to go into effect. Welcome to Socialism - or Facism. Hard to tell the difference

I don't know if the local HS had a Graduation, but a long "Class of Corona 2020" parade drove through our subdivision last Saturday. Over 50 cars all decorated.

Our insanely ridiculous TriCounty health dep’t told the principal when he tried to follow the rules and clear things through them, that the car parade idea wasn’t workable. Too much contact. Seriously. IN-freaking-sane.

So they DIDN’T ask when they set up a senior dinner for Wednesday night, at the County fairground convention center. Seems of you’re graduating, and your dad is the guy with the keys, and three of the grads have LEO parents, you can make things happen without any issues or interference from the insanity crew.

  10. Didn't think about it until reading your Dr. It comment but I think he/she/it looks more like Uncle Fester with a wig.

  13. This generation has never had to work for anything in their lives. They want something mommy and daddy run out and get it for them. They don't like something a petition is started to ban it. Some one says something they don't like the world attacks that person. These are the future leaders of America and they are losing their simple snowflake minds because the can't walk across a stage to get a piece of paper that no one will ever ask to see again.
They are going to have a real tough time in the real world if they act like this just because they can't have the graduation they have envisioned their entire high school life. How will they handle it the first time they are laid off or fired from a job that is if they get one?

It's not illegal. Just do it and don't ask permission.

If the petty tyrant decides he wants to push the matter, arrest, wield police power, fine, or some other BS, that's when you 1) engage in a media campaign 2) take them to court. It's worked a lot of other places.

    Peace favor your sword,

    Playing devil's advocate here.
It would be like retiring and not having a party at work.

High school graduation(and senior prom) is something of a lifetime milestone marker for some people(graduating high school, getting a job, getting married, having a kid, kid's graduation, becoming a grandparent, retiring from work). The end of one's childhood, if you will.

Exactly what I’ve been telling everyone. The issue is, the principal could get hammered by his bosses, and those petty people could make things bad for all of us, without doing something we could point at in court.

But I agree. “Suggested Guidelines” my butt. Quit playing the stupid game, people!

If only that were true for more of them....

    Its all hyped up.
Like a wedding day absolutely positively has to be the happiest day of her life and also the most expensive.
Graduation is a bigger thing if it’s college or military academy.
High school? That’s not much of an effort or accomplishment.
    That’s kinda auto-graduate.

Depends on where you live. Here you earn it or don't graduate. Other places not so much. As for college it's the same some require you do the work others not so much.

HS graduation was just a chance to go out and party and get drunk for us. We could care less about the stupid ceremony! Most of us had been working for 3-4 years+ already doing whatever jobs we could find, we needed to pay for college!
