The only real problem with ProMag and Hi Point was the 995 mags, and the pre-LRHO generations (finally got it right on 3rd or 4th), but some unscrupulous distributors still try and sell the older ones.

I have an older one, it was a bit catchy on the upswing, or ammo feed direction. There is youtube info on various "fixes" and I sanded my follower, which smoothed it up considerably. I also plan on getting some DFL spray and hosing down the inside and follower itself. One of our own HPFF members did an extensive multi-video series on making the ProMags reliable, Mountain Storm or something like that... Smart guy, and very detailed.

Using the HP follower has made a big difference for some.
IMO the ProMags can be made to work, it just takes patience! ;)

Tripp Research makes some nice stuff.

I used a Chip McCormick 8 round conversion kit in one of my JH mags. It feeds nicely, but the follower is a tad bit narrow.

So, an 8 round conversion in an HP mag makes for 10 rounds???
Or did you go with the flat bottom 1911 mags... ?

Not a JHP. OEM JH mag hold 7. McCormick upgrade makes it 8.
