Yeah i didnt even make it past the first 30 minutes. The documentary type footage ran me off. I was expecting it to get worse. It reminded me of a low budget film. LOLI will tell you that it is filmed like a documentary. I liked it but allot of people did walk out. If they would just gave it a little more time because it gets real good after the documentary style footage.
That's because we're in the future Remember: you're sharing that viewpoint with a few guys all around the US, a few in Canada and at least one guy I know of in Afghanistan at the speed of light!I like how they made it look like a realistic alien movie, like it isn't in the future or anything.
i agree, i liked it because the weapons and graphics were just insane, but man it all felt like it took forever to unfold and it just left u wanting more...unless theres a district 10 i dunno if ill ever be satisfied with district 9 fully...i will admit the aliens were cool the ship was sick and the alien weaponry was insane and thats what kept me hooked...and i wanted to see the main character stop being a coward at some pointSaw it at the drive-in this weekend and was really disappointed. Unless there's a second one, the ending left a lot of questions un-answered and the overall "execution"--of a potentially killer plot--wasn't all that great. I'll give it another try some day, but I really was let down. I went in thinking this was going to be the best movie I'd see in a long time, and it just wasn't.
+1Whether you love it, hate it, or ambivalent about it probably depends a lot on your expectations.
It's really a social commentary movie in a sci-fi wrapper. In that aspect, I think it succeeded on both fronts (comentary and sci-fi).
If you're looking for a pure sci-fi spectacle, you'll be very dissapointed.
