Doll head pin

Discussion in 'Hi-Point Pistols' started by texasbass1, Mar 5, 2015.

  1. What would happen if I didn't put the lock pin back in the doll head after I disassembled my JHP? Just wondering since it sits in a pin hole and fits in the slide why is the cross pin necessary? Would make disassembly quicker.

    Just curious.

  2. If you lift the slide up with a loaded chamber, the HP will discharge. Not to mention that your slide would probably go flying in the air. The dolls head IS the slide rails for a HP.

  3. Thanks for the reply. As I said just curious.

Just like when my older brother would work on his car, when we were kids. He would always end up with a box of parts that didn't fit back on the car when he was done? He called it "SAFETY SH!$". I never knew what that meant? Just glad it wasn't my car!!!

I've looked for it but can't find it.
We've had a forum member here who had an accidental discharge ( or negligent, whatever) as he was working the slide without the dolls head installed.
He got a nasty wound on his belly if I recall.
We've had several threads on AD/ND in the last couple of years and his was one.
