Dumb question.

  1. About cast lead bullets.

If I cast bullets for .223/5.56, would they plug up the gas ports in my AR to the point where it would disable the weapon? I know you get some leading with cast bullets, but how bad would it have to be to make it bad for the gun itself?

no such thing as a dumb question just an uninformed one. Yes it will clog up your port some but gas checks will keep it to a minimum. check out http://castboolits.gunloads.com/

My local bullet maker who makes thousands of rounds of cast every month. He has been casting since the late 60's He makes a bunch in 6.8 with gas checks for the AR. He says these wont lead things up. But he does not make them in .223 he said why but I do not remember what he said.
