So does anyone use those new electronic cigs? I am debating on ordering one but i was wondering if anyone here has any experiences with em. A friend at work has one and has let me try it a few times. Taste the same, and has no bad stuff in it except for nicotine. So any input from you guys would be appreciated. Thanks -Bob

I knew a guy when I was deployed that had one. Honestly, I don't know much about them, but he was excited about it. I guess it's better for you, like you said, there's nothing in there but nicotine. No tar, no benzene or any of the carcinogens that are usually in cigarette smoke.

I never tried it, but he had just about every flavor of smoke you could get with the thing and it was fairly cheap. It might be worth a shot.

Personally, I think it's time I quit smoking in the first place. This move to Alaska has me really stressing, so I have been smoking more than usual anyway.

My mother has one, and it is cool.
The "smoke" isn't as... "biting" as a normal cigarette is for me. (I smoke Camel Filters) but it definitely gets the job done when you're having a nic-fit. You can get your smoke in different strengths, flavors, and sizes. The biggest things to do is keep your battery charged and vaporizer clean. That being said, When smoking an "E-Cigarette" do not "hotbox" it... smoke it normally. The more you "hotbox" the e-cigarette, the less "smoke" you get... and I love smoke.

I've recently heard radio advertisements for the "water vapor" cigarette, which I believe to be what is called the "E-cigarette" which is a good thing, because when my mother ordered hers 2 years ago, E-Cigarettes were illegal in the USA due to noncompliance with FDA regulations... (more like the FDA wanting to suppress this technology) ...but all in all, it's good... just remember... charged battery... clean vaporizer... no hotboxing... and you're good to go.

with all teh clampdowns on smoking of late it may be your only way to get nic before long. i smoked a pack a day for many years in my youth and still to this day buy a pack once in a while when i feel the itch. i have moved on to more civilized cigars for the most part, cigars are more fun for me as you can tailor the kind of smoke you want vs just by brand. i was an unfiltered camel guy. i liked it harsh.

Eh.

I don't smoke for the nicotine. I can go weeks without smoking. If I smoke, I want to enjoy the experience (yes, all the things that so many people hate about smoking).

Best cigarettes I've had are Djarum Black, which (thanks to Obama) are now illegal to sell/purchase/make. Bullcrap. You can import them from Indonesia on the internet but I don't know how quickly that would get you screwed.

Anyway, to stay on topic, I think the e-cig sounds boring and the only reason I can see for wanting one is if you are addicted to nicotine... it would let you get nicotine in more situations than real cigs.

I can get them from the Class 6 on base for about $20 bucks less than that. I know that for sure, as I already asked my sponsor in Anchorage how much it costs for a pack of smokes, and for a carton. Honestly, I don't see me smoking for that much longer as when I get there, I won't be able to afford it.

Maybe that's an Anchorage thing, I dunno. However, I know that my Dad will ship me as many cartons of smokes from the lower 48 as long as I pay for them. I can help you smoke cheaper, but I won't do it if you're trying to quit.

I don't know. If your living in a tent, you might want to light up for the heat alone :D
