Hi all! I'm going to be ordering a .45 JHP this week! Im excited! I'm wondering if the factory case is worth it or just get a cheap Plano case for $10.00. I have also seen people mention Fobus holsters. The holster and mag deal from Hi-Point seems like a good deal. I was surprised by the availability of .45ACP ammo! Around me here in Michigan 9mm is no where to be found but .45ACP is available at all the stores. I picked up federal from wallyworld for $26 and TulAmmo for $19 at bass pro.

i got mine with the factory case and it was only $10 more for it than without so it's more or less the same thing and it works just fine. i also did the holster and mag deal and i'm happy with it since i'm a lefty and it can be worn either way.

Ok Ill see what my LGS wants for it with the case. Right now they want $155.00 They dont have any in stock They have the carbines in stock. Kind of unique place they sell used tools and guns!

If they want more than $10 for the case its not worth it. I pickup hard plastic foam lined cases at the Gun shows for $10 or less all the time. $155 for a new JHP is a good price btw.

It will probably work out to be the same after shipping and transfer fees. I might considering purchasing one later. I originally thought they were in the $250-275 range maybe that was a while ago.

You need to ask yourself just how much time the gun will need to be cased?
Hi-Point sells the H-P logo'd case for $25 on their website. (Way too much!) If it's only $10 more when ordering the gun then maybe. A lot depends on whether or not your state allows vehicle transport without the gun being secured in a case (designed for that purpose). If not, I'd get a cheap soft case to use as a range rug. Ace Hardware carries soft sided, lockable pistol cases for less than $10. If you're using your firearm for Home Defense, you probably won't want to keep it cased up at home. I find that I don't keep any of my guns in plastic cases and only a couple in any kind of case at all. Each to their own tho so do what makes you happy. I wouldn't pay more than $10.
