All of my current pistols...

From top to bottom - Colt M1911A .45 (1940's Govt Model inherited)
Hi-Point C9 9mm (purchased at gun show)
Ruger P85 MKII 9mm (my first pistol, purchased form a Pawn Shop in the early 90's for $249)
Beretta Mod 70 .380 (inherited) This gun has the stiffest slide on it, it takes a lot more effort to chamber a round on this gun than it does the others.

Nice family you've got there. Does it help to cock the hammer on the Model 70 before you rack the slide? On some of the smaller autos I've found that just taking the pressure of the hammer off lessens the weight enough to make it workable. Some of the students in my CCW classes have trouble with the really heavy springs (Beretta Tomcat/Taurus PT22).

That Colt is a real beauty!

I'll try that the next time I have it out. I don't like shooting it because it really hurts my hand when I do.
