For the record, there's no such thing as a field strip on a Hi Point. A field strip is considered a mid- level break down process for maintenance. A Hi Point has no real mid-level break down, unless you consider popping off the cover and pulling it out of the stock as the field strip.
Cleaning them is as simple as snaking the barrel and scrubbing what you can reach until you reach a few thousand rounds before you complete a full break down maintenance service. The carbines are a little easier than the pistols because you can pull them out of the stock and gain a little more access to the internals. And after the first time, I never pulled my front sight again. Just cleaned it on my green gun mat without removing the breech bolt monstrosity.
