Archangel stock kit Brass Stacker scope mount which is rock solid and lets me still use the iron sights. El Cheapo pistol scope many claim stands up well to the recoil. Next range trip it goes with for some fun and shoulder punishment! Only thing I need yet is a muzzle brake!

The scope should hold up to the recoil from a 7.62X39 rifle with no problem. Many pistols have much more recoil then the SKS.

    Good looking rifle too.

That's an awesome setup, Mary. I really like that Brass Stacked mount. Do the pins go through the back part of the original sight base and then through the pin hole for the sight leaf, itself? How was it to punch the pins?

Also, did you cut the barrel? That looks a LOT shorter than what I see after having put a 91/30 into my own Archangel stock.

The T53 is like the M44 which has a barrel about 6" shorter than the 91/30.

Cool. That's all the more reason for me to get one, then. Thanks for the insight, eet.

And as a suitable punishment you'll get detention and you'll have to study up on the Mosin:

    There will be a test...........

Mount uses both sight pins and they are a major pain in the butt to remove. I broke 3 punches getting them broke loose, used heat, cold...

Barrel is stock length, Tyoe 53 is the Chinese copy of an M44

Still there, it is on the right side of the barrel...

It shot well with iron sights, scope is for my bad eyesight! Should be a good 50-200 yard rifle for deer.

I've heard that heat helps get the pins out. Is there a risk of weakening the steel that way?

Punching pins is a pain. I tried to remove the sight leaf pin for my Ishapore Mk III 2a to put a Mojo sight on it, and after bending the punch, I paid a gunsmith $10 to put the sight on for me. I'd really like to do something like that on my own at some point, though.

Not if you don't over heat it.

If you keep from making it glow, then you should be good?
