New to forum. Just picked up my first Hi Point Carbine - 9mm about 2 hours ago. Hopefully I can get it cleaned and head to range tomorrow. Will leave it stock for the first trip. Picked up a Burris Fast Sight.:D

no need to clean it before you use it, just load the mags and let them sit before you go to the range. Reload mags after you unloaded them for transport, then fire away.

Are the 15 round mags available from "ProMag" any good? I saw something on You Tube that says the use of these mags will void the Hi Point warranty.

Welcome from Nebraska! My first Hi Point was the 995ts. I liked it so much and got so much good information on this forum that I have since bought two pistols. Looking at buying the jhp45 soon. I followed all the advise on here and have had no problems with any of my hi points.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, what is a moony? I've been called lots of things, but never a moony.

    A moony is a diminutive of a moona11.

We do kinda go overboard with it, but that is what you do when you are right.

Well in the 70's it was a follower of Rev. Sun Myung Moon.

Around here it's a guy who married way above his class.

Interestingly enough, his son is the founder and CEO of Khar Arms.

I think moony was also a term to describe sailor moon fans back in the 90s
