Well folks, at 38 I finally got around to buying a pistol. I came across Hi Point for the first time about a week and a half ago, I was instantly intrigued. The store I was at was out of C9s so I took a card and vowed to return. I spent the rest of the week researching online, coming across this forum along the way. After reading a lot of posts I set out to get my pistol last saturday. I ended up not going back to where I had first seen them, luckily. I went to a place closer to home and found it for about $20 less. Got a C9, 50 rds, holster and background check rounded down to $185. 15 minutes later I was in the pistol range out back puting some rounds through it. Stopped at another store and picked up a 10 rd mag later. On my way back through Springfield that afternoon I stopped and bought another 50 rds. I kept 18 to fill the mags and put the rest down range. Only issue I encountered was with the 10 rd mag, not unexpected because it was brand new and the spring is super strong. This resulted in a couple misfeeds when full. Otherwise no problems, the gun performed perfectly. As I have not been an avid shooter my marksmanship left a lot to be desired that first day. On wednesday I stopped in and put another 50 down range and happy to say my groups are already improving.

last 2 clips on wednesday from 5-7 yards

At 32 i decided to get my first handgun, also a C9,and now want more and more.Be careful it can become quite addicting.I went from zero guns to 3 in a matter of a month and a half. The C9 is still my favorite, and quite possibly the most accurate. You made an excellent choice,IMHO,with the C9.Hope you enjoy it for years to come, and welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the world's greatest little discussion group.

Have you seen the thread (http://hipointfirearmsforums.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=6826) about the TN Shoot-n-Meet (or Meet-n-Shoot)?

Watch out, you will catch Hi-Point-itis. No cure but buying HPs, shooting HPs, talking about HPs, looking at HP porn (where are your pictures?), shooting HPs, and joining this forum can help.

missed the 45

stopped by with money in hand today, but alas it was gone. they had a 40 for 119 that tempted me briefly. if i get another it will be the 45 though, and they wanted 179-189 for a new one. the place i got my c9 has the 45 for 159-169 from one i recall and he is a lot more personable. so i'll prolly wait a week or two and then consider it again.

btw

went ahead and got the 995 last weekend, fun little gun that kicks more than expected. to that end i picked this up at BassProShop earlier today. won't get to try it out til late next week though.
