I'll start.
Last Monday evening after work, the wife and I went to a slightly larger neighboring town to do some necessity shopping. We didn't want to make supper before leaving or when we got home due to time. This means we went to Subway after grabbing the needed things. I thought the peppers looked a bit "saved", but I usually eat whatever without major repercussions. "It'll be fine!" I told my observant self.
Side notes: I eat spicy foods of all kinds almost constantly. Two week old leftovers are not abnormal for me. Mold on cheese and sometimes even bread don't necessarily deter me. Cut it off and get to it.
Kept waking up from about midnight onward with bad heartburn. Not too much of a surprise since we didn't eat until after 7pm and I have some acid reflux issues. At about 3am, I realized that I should go to the bathroom for some kneeling-&-thinking time. A major mandatory evacuation from the north side occurred. Okay. Gargled and rebrushed the tooth.
Under an hour later, I woke back up and thought the same thing was maybe occurring. On the way to the bathroom, my balance started getting all wonky. When I entered the bathroom and started kneeling, I lost some control and fell over. Then slowly propped myself against the tub. My wife was wondering what happened and came into the bathroom. Within moments of her getting there, apparently my breathing started getting quick and then my eyes rolled back into my head and I slouched onto the floor. Within a minute I phased back into existence to her slapping me, yelling and starting to cry. As I regained consciousness and started talking. Wife let our shaking (out of fear) Pitbull come in and lay her head on me while wife and I talked. She (possibly also Pitbull) wanted to call 911, but I refused. Within a few minutes, I got myself up and went back to bed with dog sticking to me like she was on a two foot leash. In a bit, wife went to work. Though very reluctantly.
I called my boss at about 6am telling the story so far. Needless to say, I wasn't going to work that day. Got up at 7am and found my balance was pretty good. Spent most of the rest of the day on the couch with the my little fuzzy buddy. Only getting up for liquids, Cheerios, our potty breaks and the sudden early afternoon doctors visit. Without getting into the color/consistency details, every tummy rumbling over the next 30 hours (!) was a steady stream of mandatory evacuations from the south side. Excess stretching &/or tooting was NOT an option.
At the doctors office that day. They found that my blood pressure was low. Possibly due to a lack of fluids. I had already been sucking water and one Pedialyte (by that point anyway). Doc wanted to do EKG and blood tests, which I declined until I got some reassurance from my as-yet untested health insurance. I've been working there for a little under six months. They pushed pretty hard to do them though. So I had the tests done on Thursday morning. I can't wait for the bill.
The tests showed that I'm in way better health than they should have. Considering the fact that I'm a portly (not grossly obese) middle-aged guy. No warning signs, by the numbers. But by that point I wasn't dehydrated. That was the worst case of food poisoning I've ever had! It was far worse than the Taco Bell issues from two months prior. My wife had zero issues either time.
