Was curious about something, and checked a few states, but could not see an obvious answer.

In states where you can open carry, what happens in the winter ?

Even Nevada can get chilly at night, you might throw a jacket on, since it would more than likely be now covering your pistol, is it now concealed, or is the temperature taken into consideration ?

Without checking anything look at the laws and read the definition of "open" or "concealed" carry.

You would need to wear your gun on the outside of your clothing.
Like I said, didn't bother to look anything up.

  3. Laws vary from state to state but I think SWAGA pretty well summed it up.

  4. Swaga is correct for NC, probably most states as well. The big question is if your gun is covered by a coat, can you effectively get to it? If you can't why bother carrying?

I carry with a 1 7/8 leather CW belt, that is not through the pant loops. It is easy to take off and put on over a coat. I open carry all the time, but if a person wishes to CC or do both nothing wrong with that. Just plan for the logistics of carrying under clothing.

yeah, I looked at a few state sites, states. The best stated must be on the outside of the clothing and visible.

I only got to thinking about it, as I saw a guy with a long coat to his knees. adjust his holster to the front of his pants in Nevada last weekend

So, here's what happens in winter...you use a short jacket, or a drop holster, or you belt up like you are in the military, or you carry concealed.

    Pretty obvious, ain't it?

  7. Do they make a jacket/coat for civilians such as LEO use that unzip on the side to expose your weapon?
Never have looked for one of these.

    EDIT:
I searched and didn't find anything as I mentioned above.
With more and more open carry, there may be a market for a coat/jacket that unzips to properly expose your handgun for open carry.....

Did you know who does the voice, Hermy???

In the Mr. Obvious "Un-Plugged" promo, Mr. O comes in and out of character and starts bleeping up a storm using both voices :D
    THAT was rather funny!

:p It's like a game for me, but now you ruined it! :p
I liked figuring out who did the various voices. Now you leak-linked all the info :p

Actually, they took B&T off the local station so it's all good :D

I graduated from high school with chic mcgee. He wasn't very funny back then.

  17. That is it ajole.
Google didnt turn this up in a search.
But if you do use this you have to make sure your weapon is alway 100% revealed.
If you bend over and stand up, your jacket may fall over your gun.
You need something to keep the cut open and dont have to worry about a accidental coverup.
