Gerber machete jr.

    Need a quick opinion on the Gerber machete jr. It would fit well in my get home bag.

    Gerber is a good name. I like Cold Steel machetes a little better but a machete is a machete. This one is probably just fine.

    Thanks, I was looking for a good low cost something bigger than a knife for the get home bag and at under $20 out the door this looks like it would fit the bill.

    It comes down to the steel the blade is made of...which I am sure you are aware of. I like the big Gerber with the saw tooth back on it, have one of those. Also, as said before, you can't go wrong with Cold Steel products either. I have one of those as well.
