My wife's grandfather died recently and her grandmother would like to sell his pistol.

She doesn't want/need it because I gave her an FEG .32 auto (she's very recoil sensitive) a few years back. I told her I'd just keep it if I were her but I think his belongings upset her to have around.

The gun is the black Beretta 21a with gold accents on the slide (top and sides) as well as a gold hammer and trigger.

It is unfired with the box and papers. I'm trying to find info on the value of this thing but all of the auctions I could find are ancient and none of them had the box/papers with them.

Anyone know the approximate value of this thing? Thinking of buying it from her (or at least helping her sell it) but I don't really know what would be fair.

The standard 21a NIB seem to go around $350+, you don't see many of the gold accented ones. Some would say that adds a $50-75 premium some would subtract that amount.

I love Beretta's and have more than a few of them myself.

Post up some pics it's always cool to see a NIB survivor plus you might find a buyer here lol

Maybe take it to a Pawn and pay them a few dollars to tell you the Blue Book on it?

OK between two books I have, here is what I can tell you without seeing pics.

    NIB:$395-325
    EXC: $350-275
    VG: $$325-250

The book I have has two different Beretta 21's with "gold trim".

The more expensive prices are for the 21A EL

The lower end prices are the 21A Bobcat. Deluxe version with the gold accents ADD +$40

ArmyRover seems pretty much spot on.

After I helped her out sorting through his things and moving heavy boxes of belongings all day she practically gave me the pistol and literally gave me an old 10/22. Here are a few pictures!

I intend to enjoy it without ever firing it. The thing has gone this far in perfect shape so it'll be one of an extremely small number of firearms that I picked up with no intention to ever shoot.

I totally get it, I respect the self control I have to fire them lol..

Even this strange little one from the late 40's.

That's a Beretta 21A DA. You can tell with the swirls. The Bobcat and the EL have a little more extravagant swirls.

    beretta 21A Bobcat deluxe.jpg

The DA's Run about $425 in EXC condition. NIB $450.00.

That one was a challenge though!!

I understand not wanting to shoot it though, I would save it myself. Enjoy it Kiln!!

The box has the EL model on it and the serial number matches it. It'd have been easier to ID if I'd had access to the box yesterday!
