Got a job interview for an armored truck company

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Suicide-Salads, Aug 14, 2014.

  1. Garda in specific.

Anyone worked for them, or another armored truck company?

If so, how much did you make? Was it worth it? Good things? Bad things?

Just trying to figure out the pros and cons of this job. And see if it's worth the attached risks.

    Thanks!

I would see if they let you go well armed or with just a wimp pistol? Can't say for pay, security at the casino I worked at made $10 hour, not great but a living out where I live.

I was an electronics tech there, I repaired slots, the data systems that took accounting info from the slots and refurbished a lot of the older grungy signs to make them look new again. I was making $14/hr when I left because of injury.

  3. A friend of mine worked for an armored car before I got him hired into the federal government, he was making $13hr and only worked there for about 8 months before I stole him lol. The biggest complaint he had was working late a lot when the route ran over. Otherwise he seemed to like it,

  4. You should steal me and hire me LOL.

Only $13 an hour!!!! Hell with that. With being responsible for that much money I figured it would be more.

Get a job at a plastics plant, move up to process technicians job. Guys start for me at $15 up to $25. Not that hard of job but yet challenging. Just need to be mechanically inclined, motivated and regular education.

Cant go wrong in plastics field. Alway be plastic out there. If you are willing to move, you can almost name your price. I have done it and am doing ok.

Good luck.....me, I would pass for risk. $13 to get shot at, nope.

Looked it up on payscale site. Amazing they did show like $9.90 to $16 something. Man those guys are under paid from some crack head to go off on.

    Again, good luck.

  13. That sounds like a great idea. I live in the Bay Area California. Know of any around here?

  14. And I've decided I'm probably not going to do it.
I'm still going to the interview just to see what it's all about.

And whatever they offer me in terms of pay (if I even get the job)
I'll ask if it's negotiable. If not then I'm out.

Guys at the casino would have jumped at $13hr! They sat there for $10hr often in the main vault with around $250k in cash to guard and no weapons allowed. Only head of security carried a gun and that was a piece of junk 9mm pistol that hadn't been fired in years. I have more firepower out in my car most of the time. Plus I know where the vault is and the fact there is an outside door that accesses a wiring chase that goes from the first to third floor.... I was in there one day running wires and looked over the wall. A ceiling tile was out of place and I realized I was looking into the vault! Place had crappy security, glad I left. Had 3 bomb scares, all 3 times they never bothered notifying us in the tech shot to not use our radios and we were the heaviest radio user in the casino.

Crackheads don't go off on armored car guards. Too many places to get easy pickings in suburbia or apartments, not to mention the sale of said drug.;)

Jobs are that plentiful in Cali? Though I can see cost of living making this job a joke.:(

  18. Well I already have a job. I currently work for Apria healthcare and make $13.75 an hour.
Just looking for a mon-fri job. Tired of working weekends lol

Makes sense. I teach and coach, so for 4 months of football I get 12 hour days but free on Saturday, then in the spring, I get two months of no weekends due to track meets. The no weekends sucks more.

I can't make it on 23-30 an hour.
