got in trouble at work tonight.....

    This isn't actually intended to be in the comedy section, but i find it hilarious.
    This seriously happened tonight at my job.....

    The department manager came around asking people what they intended to wear on Friday for haloween at work. (strict rules about what is or isnt appropriate)....so he gets to me and i tell him, "I've given this alot of thought, and im going to come as God". He gives me a weird look and asks "and what exactly does a god costume look like?"
    My reply "im going to just stay home friday, laze on the couch in my robe, and tell anyone who dares question my presence here to go to hell."

    I have an appointment with Human resources at 4:15 tomorrow afternoon.

    Well, I must say, Companies just won't find that comment funny.
    I have worked for some that if you said that to the boss, expect 3 days off and get written up. Good Luck with HR.

    All I can say is that someone at your office needs to get a sense of humor. They have to have known that you weren't being serious. I guess you have to save those kinds of jokes only for the leadership with whom you absolutely know you have a strong rapport.

    You have two choices the way I see it:

    1. Apologize
    2. Beat their ignorance with knowledge and intellect and explain the historical background of Halloween costumes as they usually included frightening deities.

    Tell HR that the department manager hates God and is discriminating against your right to practice your religion in the way you see fit as guaranteed in the 1st Amendment of the Constitution.:D

    Was literally a 5 minute meeting. Apparently he's a church deacon and got his panties ruffled. HR said apologize, i said no, i didn't say anything directed at him individually. They agreed and said it was over.

    Boss is a control freak anyway, having to "check and see"
    if everyone is going to dress up. If someone in my business
    (construction) insisted on that crazy crap, they'd get threats
    that might be carried out! At Least laughed to shame, and
    it would be like "NO COSTUMES Now" :rofl: :rofl:

    I feel for you... last year they got on me because I came to work as a Pull Toy and the whole place said I was not to do that again....

    I don't understand... I was a pull toy.... naked on a skateboard and the whole place was offended..;)
