Got my new 995TS today

I went to a gun show in Lakeland, FL today and finally got a 995 TS. The guy had it for $300 yesterday, when I went today it was marked down to $275. Right after I bought it I went over to a guy a couple tables away and got a folding vertical grip and then I got a nice case for it as well. Gotta give the case guy a plug (http://www.hafnerworldwide.com) he was really nice and helped me find a real discreet looking one that fit its perfectly.

Got it home and installed the grip and the sling mounts. The sling that comes with it is good for going over your shoulder but I think I am going to get a Specter 3 point sling for more carry options.

I love this carbine, when I shoulder it, it fits me like a glove and feels great. I also have a Beretta CX4 and love that as well. The Beretta is a little more refined and has higher capacity but this 995TS is every bit as ergonomic. I wanted something rugged that I could put behind the seat of my truck for any SHTF scenarios and it is perfect for this. The new stock is great, definitely a huge improvement aesthetics wise over the classic style. I love the ghost ring sites, they seem to line up instantly for me, I really like that style.

I can't wait to get it to the range to try it out. Gotta order some more magazines from Hi Point as well. I am really happy about my purchase, it fits my needs perfectly. I am not a tall guy and don't have long arms so some of these long ass rifles just feel front heavy to me. The 995 is just right. I think when the 4595 ever comes out I will grab one of those as well.

awesome man, enjoy your new toy....i cant decide what i want to hock to get one.....maybe my girlfriend? she's the most expensive hobby i have, LOL.
Well bang for your buck wise, Hi Point seems to have the market cornered. Hard to beat what they give you value wise.

Whenever my wife squawks about my guns, I just tell her I have them to protect her. Not much she can say to that LOL
Trust me you will like it even better after you have shot it.
For $250 where can you get a better bang for your buck!
Was the dealer 'shoot straight' ??
No I didn't see one at the Shoot Straight Table although they did have a Kel Tec Sub 2000 for $400. I got the 995TS from a company called TDK Tactical in Apopka.
Welcome to the 995TS club. We sure like them. Had mine for a couple months and it keeps growing on me.

Thanks. I got there late Sunday and thought possibly SS sold out of them. They still had 995s. That is who I got my 995 from. I hear from another member the a shop in Sarasota has the TS for a good price. Might have to take a run down there and look around.

What range do you use? Knights in Pinellas Park has 2 for 1 on Mondays & Tuesdays. That makes $10 an hour for (ex-military, fire, police) two.

Oh yeah, you're right, they did have the classic. Did you know that the Shoot Straight at gun shows is the Apopka store? Apparently they have completely different pricing than the Tampa store because if you have ever been in there they really stick it to you.

I go to Knights sometimes. We have a range down the street in New Port Richey called Firing Line which is ok, they only go up to 25 yards though. I will have to head down to Knights sometime to really test it out long range.
Picked my 995TS up monday, havent shot it yet but it was $221.00 new out the door, wow its great. Just dont know where the sling studs go there was nuthing in the instructions.

From what I read, you have to remove 2 screws on the stock and insert the sling studs in their place. From what I can tell the sling studs can only attach on the right side of the 995TS.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, lol.

Pheenix - thanks for clarifying!

LOL, and I'll make 3. Instructions were really lacking in that area.

I have my sling swivels & sling mounted on the left side.

Can you screw a bolt into a nut on either side?
