Saw this at the LGS today. Have never seen one before. It’s a Rock Island Armory XT 22 Magnum. Of course I had to home it. I certainly like the way it feels. RIA calls for a 500 round break-in period. We will see how it goes. If it proves reliable it will likely replace my Browning Black Label 1911-380 as my EDC.

Saving up my nickels for this beast!

I oncet owned an AMT 9-shot .22 Magnum pistol - really regret selling it, now.

Get the Kel-Tec though. It plastic but with 30rds of bam bam and its lighter the red/green dot sights make it a better carry gun.

I have the PMR 30. I do like it. I call it the poor man’s 5.7, but I can already say that I like the XT 22 Magunm better!

Looks cool and I do like .22WMR. Nice that this is a "hi cap."

500 round break in seems excessive.

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk

ditto. That's more than the old Kimbers
That does seem a bit much!

And,
would eat up just about my entire stock of .22 Magnum ammo...

Rerun
Then you already don't have enough!

I have a 1911-22LR from ATI/GSG. Mine is not a WMR but its a fun gun to shoot and you can go through a lot of ammo for sure. Bought it back in 2018 when prices weren't so outrageous.

Edit/Add: I do have a RIA GI Standard 1911 in .45 cal also.

Can't blame you, 1911s are timeless...

I would love one but that would mean stocking 22mag... I have a few 1911s, all in 45acp. Had a chance to get a 9mm but never did.

Anyway, nice grab and enjoy!!! Give us updates during the break in.

For a 22 I don't think so. Semi shot guns run better after they are seriously run also.

Yes... yes it is...

I don't know why, just seemed wrong to get it in anything other than 45acp... I haven't bought a 1911 in years. Maybe I should look around, I know a buddy of mine got one in 10mm and another one got a 380 mini one, I forget the make but it is sooo tiny lol, looks like a 1911 still though.

Now that you have called me out I guess I am going to have to look for a 9mm one... twist my arm...

Pricing isn't horrible. It's a Blem, but yeah I buy guns to shoot... it's gonna get blemished anyways...

Eh we'll see.

45 acp is the iconic round for the 1911. But people seem to forget that it’s predecessor was chambered in 38 acp. Then in the 30’s I think the 38 super found a home in the platform. Therefore both the 45 acp and 38 Super are proper cartridges for the 1911.

The 380 acp is nothing more than a miniature 45 acp, so it’s also a natural in the mini 1911.

10 mm? I am starting to warm to it, but I think there are better platforms for the cartridge than the 1911.

9mm Luger in the 1911? Blasphemy! But I hear that it’s popularity in the platform today is greater than the 45 acp.
