I know this isn't an "other brand of firearm" since it involved a Hi-Point.

Sitting in class, talking to a fellow student...both of us layoffs, talking about our previous jobs. And he mentioned something about how I should start up my own auto shop. I told him I would rather open a gun store. Then it happened....the subject quickly changed, and from there on. All talk between he and I has been about firearms.

Anywho, he mentioned he had a Hi-point. And before he said it he says "I know their not a name gun, or have a think track record, but it's one of the best guns I've owned..and it's a Hi-point .45"

It was funny, because he defended Hi-point like he did, and didn't know who I was, and how well I'm known on the this site. So I showed him some pictures of my old 995 I had on my phone, as well as the others...

So, with all of that being said. He offered me a trade, my ~$350 dollar Buckmark, with the J-point mini dot(worth more than the gun) as trade for his 45. Now, I didn't want to be an asshole and laugh in his face, I politely declined, and told him how much I love the gun, and the sentimental value the gun had...which is does, since it was the first gun I have ever legally owned.

I don't know, I would NEVER own an HP handgun, they are nice and all. But they are the ugliest guns on the planet, they are big, bulky, and the ergonomics don't fit my hands. If I got an EXCELLENT deal on another 995. Then I will join the HP world again.

He is still harking me about the trade....

Well that's a great deal! Everyone knows the higher cal. a handgun the more expensive...

Just snap a pic of dog poo next time and ask him if he wants to trade straight up for the HP.45.

Gonna agree with MAASO, they may be good pistols but dang it they are ugly... Like if a Glock and a Kel-Tec had a baby it would be a HP...

The Kriss is considered fugly also but I still want one! 8) If it is reliable and goes BANG every time I seriously couldn't care less... I'm not sleeping with the firearm, well I might sleep with my new XD.45acp Tactical. :D
Yeah...but, there is a limit. I wouldn't go out in public with a 400lb chick with me just because she can suck the chrome off a bumper. I feel the same way about HP handguns.

No comment... :cool2:
I don't care I shoot my HP firearms right next to my big brand high priced ones. I'm not gonna be ashamed and be a closet HP supporter. I like them, they have never failed me and I'm proud to out shoot people with them.

I think they are kinda cool, no one else has made a gun that is practically without recoil.
