What am I looking for? I want a small and light weight 9mm that's hammer fired and affordable. Suggestions?

Same size as a Bersa Thunder 380 yet slightly heavier. Reliable and accurate with minimal recoil. Unfortunately they're not made anymore, but a nice used one can be had for under $400.

  4. Speaking of bersa. I think they make a 9mm.
I have been seeing a lot of trade in Beretta M9 for 300. Hard to pass up. But they aren't small or light

Isn't the original LC9 hammer fired?

I hope that's used because I paid double that for a new one.

SCCY. Paid $240 for mine about 2 years ago. I've seen them on sale lately for as low as $219

I like the SCCY, incorrectly assumed(it was striker fired), but actually has an internal hammer, nice catch bluharley. And I find the finger groves don't fit large hands.

It is hammer fired, but it's bigger than my Kahr CM40. It holds 5 more rounds, but it's still bigger.

Not a huge number of compact hammer fired semi autos around these days in the inexpensive price range.

    What about the Zastava M88?

Yes it is. Ruger replaced it with the LC9s striker fired version (I bought on about a month ago) The original version has been removed from Ruger's website.

Lots of people like the new trigger on the striker version so there are a bunch of fairly new hammer versions hitting the used market for pretty cheap. Many are being offerd about $100-150m on trade in.
