i've been reading up on a lot of different kinds of pistols, and have decided hi-point is the way to go for my first one. (I have plenty of experience with rifles and shotguns, but have never shot a handgun.)
I haven't gotten to buy one yet, as there are no dealers in my town, but I frequent a couple of cities that have them, so I expect to buy one within a week.

Welcome to the forum. Lots to learn from the nice folks here. I used to go to a mule sale in Ada when I lived in Texarkana.

Hi, my name is Broomhead and I am a Hi-Point addict.
Everyone said:
Hello Broomhead.
Welcome to our support group.
There are five steps in our program.
Step 1: Buy ammo and send it down range.
Step 2: Buy more Hi-Points.
Step 3: Laugh at all the Gun Snobs for paying way too much, then out shoot them at the range.
Step 4: Happily spread your addiction to others whenever possible.
Step 5:Repeat steps 1 through 4 endlessly.
Unfortunately, these are not steps to recovery.
There is no recovery.

Yes, both pawn shops/gun stores sell HP's. Funny, now that I think about it, I bought one from each store.

Went to a pawn shop and bought a .40 today!
I went in looking for a 9mm, but the guy said they got half a dozen in a few days ago and they sold out without a couple of hours.

they had a green one, which I didn't know existed. I considered getting it, just for the sake of getting something weird, but it didn't look that good and cost a little more.
