Closer to $1800 - $1795, and that's with pitting on the drum and magazine part. Gah I can't imagine what one in excellent shape would be!
Hi-Cap Mags - the sticky
Ok, lets create a difinative Hi cap thread so we can avoid the weekly "what about hi cap mags" threads that seem to pop up time after time.
1. Pro mag 15 rounders are sketchy at best. some members have made them work by modifying the feed lips. ive had zero luck with them. buy at your own risk.
2. the 30 round drum mag that rumors persist about doesnt exist. period. its just rumors.
3. The suomi drum modification has yet to be built and function properly with a HP. Several memebrs have built them (myself included) with no success. there are too many obstacles to overcome in this conersion.
4. double stack mags would require a mojor stock redesign and beemailler has already stated thats not on the table.
5. if you can create a working, reliable magazine of 30 rounds or more, and it is proven by a mod or admin of this board, you will be declared a demi-god and money will fall into your hands in mass quantities (mostly from members here).

check out gun gallery 18+1 45acp hi-point pistol welded 2 hi-point mags togeather, longer spring,and the plastic part at the botton of the 2nd mag is #40 heat swink tubing.
Regarding ProMag 15 round mags. I ordered 2 a week ago. Got them and they didn't fit (wouldn't lock into weapon). Complained to the seller. Told to call ProMag. Did and they said the latest were recalled due to problems. Said new ones out in 2-3 weeks. Just fyi.

well it seems to me that Hi-Point would do a lawsuite against pro-mag for sellinga product that is inferiour and especially under their name. as for Hi point doing a r&d on a hi cap mag dont think we will see it. it has been well over a year since the thread started and they last time I called said they were NOT repeat NOT doing any HI cap mags over the standard 9 since they sell in states that 10 or more are illegal. would be nice if they would.
Now that sounds like an awesome idea. I can't imagine any problems since you are using Hi-Point mags. That's funny, as I personally know the owner of Hi-Point and the man swears to me that they are in R&D, but not at the Hi-Point factory. Hi-Point has contracted this out to other R&D companies to work the issues with the Hi cap magazines, and if you know anything about fabrication, R&D takes a LOT of time, if you want something to work 100% out of the box. Hi-Point has made this their only point. If they are going to put their name on it, it has to work 100%, do it right, the first time. Also, they didn't specify the round capacity of this magazine, just to make a magazine that holds more than what they have now. If you can get 16 to work in the C9, make it a 16 round mag. If you can only get a 13 rounder to work, then so be it.

Hey everyone i spoke to 2 people from pro mag they both said they are coming out with a new line of mag. its only a 15rnd but it is suposed to be some good they also told me to send in the old ones and the would send a new one out but there still in the process and it will be 1-2 months before there out so lets hope there serious and not full of :bs:
I still just don't trust anything that comes from promag.

Only response I got about the 15 rnds were that they were discontinued. I just bought mine today after being impressed by a cop friend's 9mm carbine, and after much hunting managed to locate one in a store about 35 miles from my house. Drove down, they had two left, both with the new stock. I bought one and an extra 10rnd, both him and Promag have said the 15rnd is discontinued. The cop that inspired me to buy mine has one, and says it works awesome after some mods to the lips, so I'm going to hunt one up.
Only had a chance to fire 20rnds today, was on a tight schedule, but had no issues at all. Some friends, including the cop, are coming over day after tomorrow and we're all going to go shooting. I'll post after that, when my red dot is mounted. (I think the scope it came with is a bit overkill, and I'm used to M16 peep sights so the iron sights on the carbine annoy me)

I mentioned this elsewhere, but just as an update, the 15rnd promags would not fit my 995TS at all. Wouldn't even seat into the mag well properly, wouldn't lock in place. He had 3, we tried 'em all.
Thanks for the info, I will keep an eye on new mags coming out from HP. Seems like there isn't much else out there that works reliably. We have a Pro Mag and it jams, too.
Has anyone tried combining a sten mag with the factory magazine somehow?
I was also playing around with one of my HK P7M8 magazines they are very close in size, fit and grip angle to the 995 mag. The HK also has a 13 rounder for the P7M13 (the downside is they cost about a hundred bucks). That might be something to test out or modify.

I was just looking through some all GI Joe comics. Some of the guns in the comics look just like the 995 with an extended magazine.
how do you disassemble the mags in a 995b?
About two weeks ago I bought a Promag 15 shot clip for my 995 because the owner of the gunshop told me that these were new ones that would not jam. I took it home to try it only to find out that the Mag would not catch. I took it back to the gun shop with the mag. The shop owner, who sells Hi Points and I assumed was an expert, gave the mag a good palm to get it in. After that mag was catching fine.
I then took the gun home to try out the mag only to find out that the gun was jamming. Something weird was happening in that the bullet seemed to get stock to the firing pin. As I pull the trigger a hear a click but no bang. The bullet was stuck in the chamber in front of the firing pin in what seemed like they two were fussed bother. It took a great deal of effort to separate the two and free the bullet. This happened several times. I only got on bullet to fire out of 20 tries and that was followed by another jam.
Obviously the gun now needs to go back to Hi Point... but does anyone have any ideas on how forcing the magazine in would result in this situation? I don't think the magazine comes up high enough to effect the firing pin. I am pretty sure the Pro-Mag magazine cause this jam because I have never even had a jam with the 995 before. Has anyone ever had a similar experience with a ProMag? I wish I never bought that magazine.

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone had ever considered using the 10 round C-9 Magazine extended floorplate on a Carbine magazine? That outta give you 12 rounds to play with instead of 10 if the floor plates are designed the same on both types of magazine. Anyone have a C-9 8 rnd and 10 rnd to compare to a 995carbine magazine? I've been hunting for photos with no luck.
The c9 ten round and the 995 are the same magazine with different bases on them. So if you put the c9 base on the carbine mag it wouldnt fit into the carbine anymore, but it would fit in the c9.
