MKS may be the importer or distributor of the gun, but HP his nothing to do with it at all. it is made by these folks in italy.

the 1911 close is a recent addition ot the line, made solely for export to the US. thier main products are repros of civil war and reconstruction era carbines and lever action rifles.

i cant find anything on teh MKS or chiappa armi website that shows a link to either company. so its either a NDA import agreement, or a misprint.
