Hi Point C9 in Sierra reloading manual

    I was flipping through my reloading manual looking for velocity data when I saw that the Sierra load data was worked up with a C9! Thought that was cool.

    Wonder why?

    Is it faster, or slower, out of a blowback, versus locked breech gun?

    Regardless, it's kinda neat. It's not like they couldn't buy whatever gun they wanted.:p

    I have no idea. Maybe the fixed barrel and simplicity of the design eliminate extra variables?

    A less flattering possibility is that they deemed it the gun most sensitive to overpressure, but the Hi-Point is +p rated, so I don't know why they would do that. It could be that the direct blowback action would start showing indicators of overpressure sooner, though.

    Maybe they figured if it wouldn't blow up an HP it was safe for everything else?
