At this point the only Hi-Point I own is the 1095TS 10mm carbine, which has been incredible, but have been curious about their pistols. Is there any model in particular that has been proven to be more reliable than others? I know that budget anything can be hit and miss when to comes to QC. a good example is my Taurus GX4. Mine has been 100%, yet other folks have had no end of trouble. I think any mass produced weapon can have these issues, but the budget ones tend to see more problems, you either get a good one or you don’t. I know the reliability, fit, and finish of my Sig P220 Elite 10mm has been amazing, but at seven times the cost, it better be.

The JHP45. However to carry it is a chore being it is a heavy chunk. The 9 may or may not present a challenge. The mags might need adjusting. Polishing the feed ramp is stupid.
Thanks, for me, having to fiddle with mag feed lips to ensure reliability is crazy. Once the new HP 10mm pistol has been our for a bit, that could be a possibility. I go to the range 1-2 times a week, so should be able to get a handle on any problems pretty quickly. Big, heavy, and not the most aesthetically pleasing, they may be, but I would still like to try one

Most of the issues with HiPoint magazines are with non OME. Have owned 3 C9s 2 C380s and a 995. No issues with any of them. They all have went on to other happy owners except the 995. It sits in a corner of my bedroom fully loaded with 3 extra mags in a butt stock mag pouch. 41 rounds waiting for an unauthorized intruder.
Thanks, kind of like my 1095TS😀

I've not purchased any calibers other than .45 ACP, but the JHP has been flawless for nigh on to 20 years; I think it was 2002 or 2003 when I bought my first one. Since then, I've been confident enough to buy a JHP for both of my adult sons; I've also purchased and passed along to each them a 4595.
The ONLY issues I've had with the pistol itself was because I took it ALL THE WAY apart, past recommendations, and didn't get it put back together correctly. The safety was out of position, and the slide wouldn't operate. They fixed it for free, and gave me a new ghost ring rear sight.
Not a malfunction, but I discovered that the pseudo "powder-coat" finish came off when I dunked the slide in a bucket of Ed's Original Red.
I learned how to reload on that JHP, and I had lots of problems leaning how to crimp the brass on some jacketed 200 grain bullets. Because the crimp was loose, I got MANY squib rounds. I had to pound the bullets out of the barrel with a steel rod and a hammer. Despite that non-tender loving care, the pistol NEVER stuttered, and once I learned how to crimp correctly, it has eaten everything I fed it. Always accurate, too.
It was my truck gun for years, until I was able to afford something lighter, and implemented daily concealed carry.
Thank you Pat, that’s awesome

Large Frame, for certain. I've owned them ALL prior to the 3895. The JHP was flawless, and so was my JCP. I guess the C9 is now pretty reliable with better QC on the mags, but I don't buy economical guns these days. But I still love the HP concept! Sub $200 gun for the everyman and everywoman out there operating under a tight dollar cap.
I also love the new G3 (glunk gen 3) stuff, it's getting under $300 for a reliable steel slide, 17rd double stack glunk clone, but I only like the ones that use the Glunk Magazines 😹
Thanks!

The Turks are bringing in gen 3 Glock clones that take Beretta 92 or CZ 75 mags, somewhat intriguing, but I think I've nailed down a Dagger dealership which I think will sink the Turks.
You may be right, I’ve got a Turkish SAR9, which is a very solid weapon at a sub $200.00 price tag, too bad the trigger is about as bad as they come, minus the horrible trigger, I’m at nearly 2K rd’s without as much as a hiccup
