Are the C40's a more compact version? I saw one at my local GS but the place was a mad house so I left without handling it. I am curious about it because it was only $119.

gotta be mislabled. did it say C40 on the slide? or just the price tag.
Must have been a 380 I have seen them that cheap at cal ranch here in Utah but not for a new 40
either a 9mm or a 380 for that price. even used 40s bring 150+ here.

All I was able to see was the price tag, I'll go in for a closer look tommarow. It didn't look much bigger than my C9 to be honest, but I was 5' away. If it is the same size I'll swoop it up.

Dude whatever it is swoop it up.
Probably mislabeled. I checked Hi-Point's website and they don't mention a compact .40, only the full size model. However their website doesn't mention the "Camo green" models or the new 995 TS carbine either so I guess you never know.

"I did it like this, I did it like that, I did it with a wiffle ball bat".
Hi-point's "blow-back" technology wouldn't allow for a compact design for a round as large as a .40, anyway.
I went and handled the C40 and it seemed different than the .45 and .40 I also compared it to. It didn't have the bulky mag like the others and the magazine release was on the bottom of the mag. I didn't really study the regular .40 cal I handled to see if the mag release was identical. It is the same size though exept for the mag. I did buy a Taurus tracker .44 mag with a 2,5" ported barrel. :D
