anyone ever recover any fired hollow points from their carbines?
how do they hold up? i kind of expect the cheaper ones to shed lots of weight,
but what about hydrashock and golddot's?

I was begining to thinl this was a thread for the Blue Oyster shooting team. Haven't tried any hollows yet.

capn',so do they work well in your carbine?no ftf's and the like?
seems like i read somewhere on here that hollow points
would just come all apart on contact and not peenetrate at all
how many jugs did they go through and where did you findthem?
i might have to do a little less than scientific testing,sort of
quasi mithbusters and silicon wolverine/.22 test type of thing
what do you think?

Never recovered but did take out a groundhog at about 45 yrds...w/ Winchester Ranger 147g hollow points..wicked.

Wish I would had a camera working after I shot a 10" watermellon the other day. I shot it with a Horniday 124g JHP in front of some Blue Dot. I was finding pieces about 6' away.............

The only problem ammo I had in the 995 was with some Win. Truncated Cone 147gr.
I've shot some Win. 147gr JHP & some Ranger 115gr+P+ & had no problems with it.
Had a little trouble with Rem. 115gr JHP but nothing serious & some of it may have been underpowered since it was a BIG sale at Bass Pro.

I just shot through 1 jug & recovered the round in the dirt. The +P+ JHP rounds tore up the milk jugs 3 times as bad as the FMJ did.

my 4095 loves Remington JHP 180gr. It loves all ammo.

+1 on Winchester Ranger 115gr+P+

Only problem ammo was Winchester Ranger 155gr 40S&W (Conventional). Unreliable jacket / weight retention results.
Worked great in the 4095 for plinking ammo at $ 8 a box.
