I've never actually measured any of my HP trigger pulls but I would estimate them between 4 to 7 pounds?

As far as making them lighter...... I never reccomend anyone without gunsmithing knowledge or experience to mess with that. However you can make it a bit lighter and smoother by polishing the trigger mechinisms with a dremel and polishing compound. But only if you ONLY use a felt tip and light compund to do so.
Messing with a trigger can be very dangerous.

Point.

I have read the same on other forums. Not so much here or at HiPointTalk.com.

But I have owned 3 H Ps of late and none of them have a bad or heavy trigger.
The trigger on my C9 or 995 are no heavier than on my XD, XD m, Walther etc. And just as smooth, lacking grit or grind in the pull.

In fact the only gun I have that has a better trigger pull than all my others, (not counting revolvers, cause we all know they are heavier than pistols,) is my 1911. Super Sweet single action.

OK, just tested my C9 with a poor-mans pull gauge (milk jug and wire) and out of 5 tests the trigger pull ranged from 4.4 to 6 pounds. It broke down like this.

1.) 4.4#
2.) 6#
3.) 5#
4.) 5.8#
5.) 4.8#

Being the scientist I am, that is an average of 5.2 lbs. Which, to me at least, is reasonable!

I have no trouble with the trigger pull. My fiancee' finds it a bit difficult (she is small).

I have found that a bit of CLP in the trigger mechanism makes a big difference. We have several nudred rounds through it and that helps too.

Tonight I found a very rough area on the slide that LOOKS like is effects the trigger reset. I sanded that a bit, we'll see how it works. For what it is worth, while the gun feeds like a dream now, I am getting FTE's with WWB, Magtech, and Blazer. UMC works fine.

UMC is among some of the cheaper stuff, right? It's been about 6 or 7 years since I've bought any ammo. Seems like I bought UMC for $5 or $6 per 50.

Awesome. The trigger pull issue was about the only thing keeping me up in the air about Hi-Point.

My shooting is 100% backyard plinking, so I'm all about light-ish SA pulls. I don't carry, so the only thing a DA trigger does for me is mess up my first shot :)

Instead of buffing the trigger assembly I found an easy way to make it smooth and light but not to light. Get some Hoppies shotgun Choke lube. It has Teflon in it. Spray down the trigger parts and dry shoot a few times. CAUTION, do not get any spray in the bullet path. It will cause real issues.

What he said. Read twice. Repeat.

That said, my C9 measured 9 lbs., using the bucket method. With polishing like Ape describes, I got it down to 4, and I've put hundreds of rounds through it since, dependably.
