I believe your confusion lies in the fact the first pictures were taken in the mirror. You'll notice that the safety is not visible, so you are actually viewing the right side of the gun. Plus, Fobus doesn't make a LH holster for the Hi-Point.
Well, I don't plan on pulling the trigger until it comes out of the pants. Plus, I think you're going to be in trouble no matter where you have it stowed if it is inside your pants when it goes off.
