Talking to my brother with the FHP in the Florida Keys. One place he got stuck on the road, hung up on mounds of sea weed.

There was a "sug" on the road. Clapped together Cuban escape vessel. Evidently they didn't check the weather. A few survivors. His guesstimate is 100+ bodies are out there somewhere.

I was just reading updates from my old neck of the woods out there. It looks calm in the Tampa PD posts like it did before Irma hit. Our old neighbor out there is pretty well set.

Wrong name for the boat, it's called a " Chug ". We were talking and there has been several fires down there. New Town in Key West lost an entire apartment building. They are having King tides down there today. People are parking their cars on bridges for safety. I heard several calls on his radio dealing with bodies.

Not a lot of wind damage. Water is the problem.

He is going home, packing food, water, etc for a 2+ week with the QRF quick response force.

Caught the TV in the drivers room. The eye is going inland between Bonita Springs and Port Charlotte. Sister, nephew are in Bonita, mom is in Estero just North of Bonita @Rabidwookie is in Port Charlotte.

Swaga is in the middle of the storm.
Ian is doing the Irma thing and running inland to Orlando. People went to that part of the state from the Gulf Coast back in 2017 and ended up smack in the worst of it.

My buddy was braving I-4 traffic on Monday night to get to Orlando, and my guess is that he's probably wishing he'd stayed home.

This thing took the same path as Charlie in 2004. The eye is sitting in Charlotte Harbor right now just like Charlie. They took it bad there. Lots of trailer parks in Punta Gorda.

My brother in law's recycling bin has been over turned. My nephew's shed jumped the concrete fence behind his house and landed in the road.

It may head straight to Lakeland where ex #4 was last reported to be. Gosh, I hope nothing happens to her in her modular.

So an aluminum shed blew away and a trash can was knocked over? Oh the humanity!

My buddy is in Tampa for the week and pissed they're threatening to move the game to Minnesota. If they don't cancel it, he's out like $1500.

If he's measuring with his pecker, it's probably half that.

I told him to shoot it anyway since to po po is not coming out.

His generator is underwater to so no idea how long he will be texting.

Saw Naples FD wading in waist deep water. Trucks were inside the station higher than your knees. Salt water gets into their equipment they are going to be screwed. Told my nephew that I saw it on TV. He is the IT guy for NFD.

Chaos may ensue.

Looting in Ft.Myers was at 6pm tonight. Heard the Lee County sheriff talking about it. His people were sheltering in place. Emergency services are at a stand still in many areas.

From what I saw it was nasty, Fort Meyers took a beating.
I have a home in Port Charlotte, pretty close to the Mayaka River by El Jobean. Hoping it's still there... gotta wait for neighbors to head back to find out. Most of the people we know evacuated.

Hope Swags is OK...

He is so far. He went to bed for the night. Probably on a raft in his living room. His wife is back in her motherland visiting family. So she doesn't have to deal with it.

Tampa's not getting hit as hard as anticipated from what my old neighbor said. They're getting light rain and winds in the 60-80 MPH range. The storm surge is the typical issue, so it should all run out of there in a few days if it's like Irma was.

The guy that teaches in the room across from me went to Florida Monday for a funeral, and now he’s stuck there. They think he’ll get out Friday.

A full moon would have had the tides even higher. I believe Donna in 1960 was on a full moon. My grandpa had 5ft of water up his walls with 3-4ft of stilts on Black Island in Ft.Myers Beach.

My brother had to be in Port Everglades @3am. Big fuel port. Unless they changed it again. They told him 3 different meeting points yesterday. He was thinking they would be doing fuel transport escorting. They said, "no." It may have changed. Just probably playing it by ear. He'll be calling me later I'm sure.

I lived in Florida a long time. Never anything this bad.
