I am looking for an Atari Emulator for a Desktop Computer

I currently use Windows 7 and Linux Mint version 18 as my operating systems. Presently I am looking for an Atari emulator that I can use to play the old Pitfall game on that would work with Windows 7. From my understanding there is no present copyright on the old Pitfall Atari game. Anyone have any guidance for me on this subject?

Have you looked at MAME? MAME has ROMS for all kinds of games.
