Good job for sticking up for HPFF!!! ;)
LMAO...where is the rest of my post?

Meh...today in Psychology class, we had to do an exercise that offended people, but we had to defend our decision with out causing too much commotion. The teacher said "are you for, against lowering the drinking age to 18" half the class went this way, the other half went that way. Then the next question. "Are you for, or against the Second Amendment?

In a class of 32 people, I was the only person who went the the "agree with" side of the room. I was able to comeback with a reasonable response to every point of their argument.

"They kill"
-"They save lives too"
"Well, in the wrong hands they're dangerous"
-"That's why the lot of us own guns"
"Why do you the the term "A loaded gun" only implicated bad things?"
-"I don't know, I carry a loaded gun every day and am perfectly safe"

Then the opposer changed her tactics, and through a scenario at me. Said something like "Somebody breaks into your house, he has a knife and you have a gun. You would shoot him wouldn't you?"
-"I'd hold him at gunpoint while the police came, if he's not directly threatening my life, then there's no need to shoot him"

Then I said "I got one for you, I'm coming over to your house tonight to brutally rape you, after I'm done. I give you a schedule of when I'll be back next, would you buy a gun to protect yourself" Then her boyfriend, who was on that side of the room just because she was said "I'd shoot you before you could leave"

I told him to get his ass on my side of the room.

Then the teacher ended the argument, and gave her personal opinion. "Guns were designed to do one thing, kill. They are good for nothing else, if abolishing them saved one life, then I would be all for it"

Then I got in an argument with her "Are you serious, I hunt(I don't hunt, but it helped my argument) with my guns more than I murder people, and there are more cases where guns saved lives rather than ending life."

Teacher called it a day...

So I'm thinking, I have this class again Friday, Tuesday, and Thursday next week, and so on. I'm going to where my NRA shirt that has the Second Amendment written on the back.

please elaborate and who is "US"?
Gun owners.

There was a lot more said, argument wise. But the class was over at 1000. It's 1940 now, too much has happened to remember it all.
Penn and Teller made an excellent video in defense of the 2A. Watch to prepare for you next opportunity. Way to stand up against the pressure. Get used to it though because it does continue.
Ive only had to defend it mildy to some old conservative ladys of all people.
Yup.....the brainwashing really is sad to see. Most of America's youth these days is brainwashed to believe that guns are evil and the only way to live a good life is to stay as far away from them as possible. Shows you just how far the tyranny has really come and pervaded our whole way of life.
That's why I'm glad I went to technical college... Didn't have to deal with crazy liberal prof. that think cause they TEACH they automatically know everything about anything... (not saying all libs are bad.. i just don't agree with their views)
There are a lot of things designed for a specific purpose, take the knife for it example, it was designed to cut, and it does not care what it is cutting, the fork was designed to stab and could care less what it stabs, the object does nothing, it does what we tell it to, I have never seen my guns jump up and do anything, just as my knife has done nothing I didn't tell it to, of course now every once in a while, the fork don't behave!

Now of course the common denominator in all of this, is us..We choose what we are going to do with that tool in our hands...or crap, I forgot that the tooth brush was designed for one purpose, to keep your teeth clean, but guess what, somebody figure out how to make it a stabbing tool, and unfortunately, they don't use it to eat food..

My hands were designed to build, destroy, caress and comfort, but I figured out in my military career to use them to kill, they are simply a tool...what I use that tool for, determines how bad, or how good it is...

But they are so much fun to agitate, one of the advantages to going to collage after the military, you no long have any fear of such windbags.

I'm kinda suprised it was just you against everyone else, given that you're from a quasi-"red" state. Now if you were from say Delaware or Massachusets, then I could see that scenario. I guess the encroachment of neo-Marxism is starting to seriously affect "fly-over country". :cantlook:

When I was in school at the U of Idaho, we could at least count on 1/4 to 1/3 of any class having some semblence of conservatism/libertarianism in even the most left leaning classroom settings.
I'm enrolled in a nursing program, one of three guys. One is a ******, the other was pussy-whipped and did what his old lady told him to do.
Alrighty then, that explains it!

This is why I like being in a CJ program.. A discussion like this would never come up in my classes.. If it did the discussion would probably be why didn't i kill the BG fast enough?
