Well, bad news. I am going to be without my carry permit for about a week.

Since I recently moved, I had to call the State and see what was required for a change of address. I had to print and fill out a replacement application, get my New Mexico State ID card updated and photocopied, and send my actual permit with all that other stuff and a check for $5.00 to the state. The good thing is that they said the turn around time is only 5 to 7 days and I'll have it back. We'll see how it really goes.

I've considered getting mine, but what do you guys do in mid-summer?
Like down here it's bloody hot and humid and the thought of having a gun on me... lord, where would I put it?

Get yourself a little Ruger LCP or the Kel-Tec P3AT (I think that's what it is) and a little pocket holster. Those things are super small and shoot a .380, which isn't great, but beats nothing

I won't carry a .380. It's too small and the termial effects of the round aren't sufficient to dependably penetrate to vital organs according to the penetration tests conducted by the FBI.
