For the rest of us as example the only representative I have that I consider honest is Doctor Cassidy. He doesn't vote like I would always like him to but neither is he a lying evil bastard like one of my Senators. Ive seen him in two town halls and he gives honest answers if not what I always wish to hear. He will be getting most of my attention to insure he knows who he represents and support is conditional.

The rest can be replaced although they will also get letters in hopes they at least steer clear of the worst, if they get enough letters that is guys. Send this to yours let them know we are getting organized in at least some common ground.

This kinda reminds me of Sodom and Gomorrah when Abraham was petitioning God to not destroy the cities if he could find 100 righteous men. Then 50, then 10. Then....well, you know what happened. The funny thing was, Lot ended up getting raped by his own daughters....

I forgot to add that if your looking for an honest politician try looking at R-Congressman Ron Paul.

Until i started following him I actually thought our Executive branch was in control and that world bank conspiracists were crazy. Turns out I just wasn't paying attention and truth really is stranger than fiction :cantlook:

If Ron is your representative that is what I am talking about. Sent the pledge to him as well as the others but pay close attention to him. You most likely already know who you wont elect. But this will send a message to even those you dislike for who knows maybe something will awaken even in them.

Of course there are several items each of us would like to see on the pledge but this is enough for now. If we could get this much it would buy us time to do more. As for the cynics and those that would call you names remember you are not doing this for only yourself but for your present and future children and lets face it, we all have a debt to pay to keep our republic.

We may only get one chance at this, one mid-term election may well determine our future.

Ron Paul “Can’t Blame Just Democrats - Both Parties Guilty!"

Cliches about supporting the troops are designed to distract from failed policies, policies promoted by powerful special interests that benefit from war, anything to steer the discussion away from the real reasons the war in Iraq will not end anytime soon.
Ron Paul

I have never met anyone who did not support our troops. Sometimes, however, we hear accusations that someone or some group does not support the men and women serving in our Armed Forces. But this is pure demagoguery, and it is intellectually dishonest.
Ron Paul

The most important element of a free society, where individual rights are held in the highest esteem, is the rejection of the initiation of violence.
Ron Paul

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms.
Ron Paul

Our country's founders cherished liberty, not democracy.
Ron Paul

There is a ton of quotes from him like this.

The part I find so funny, is that the people who like Ron Paul and would vote for Ron Paul, don't seem to actually agree with Ron Paul.
There is this level of disconnect from what he actually says, and what they think he means.

If Ron Paul says "We need to take a step back and look at our current government model, to see if it needs adjustment to more in line with our core principles as a society".

What gets reported is, "Ron Paul says current administration not in line with core principles".... LOL

And then of course the conservative blogs who all support Ron Paul post "Ron Paul says Obama doesn't have American Principles, Liberty Tree Blood of Tyrants,,,GET SOME"!!!

I really like Ron Paul. I generally dislike Ron Paul supporters, cause they generally don't actually support what Ron Paul advocates.

I guess I missed the part where it says we have to bargain with those whom hold us hostage and take away our rights. They (our elected officials) who have decided not to listen to us and do as they dam well please, are the very people that we should give another chance to screw us again! We have shown that we are NOT pleased (read - pissed) but we will turn the check (read - bend over again) so they can finish what they started. If they won't follow there original pledge to honor, defend and follow the Constitution, why would they honor a 5 point pledge now. The government is the PROBLEM and they will NOT police themselves. We can NOT allow the fox to remain in the chicken coop and hope for the best. History repeats it's self and we are repeating history if we allow any of them to remain in power. I have NEVER heard a single politician call a public hearing and say they will follow the Constitution to the letter or die trying. Things are bad now, but if we the people don't put our foot down VERY hard now, we will not have the choice or opportunity again and the Constitution won't be worth the paper it's written on. On that basis, I reject Glenn's idea to have further talks with those whom are not open to what we the people say or want from those we elected and pay. Glenn has said some very good things , but as usual he stops short of doing what needs to be done. What good are any rights or freedoms if we continue to step back and let the corrupt politcians continue to lead us around by the nose like the sheeple we have been. Like they always do, the politicians will say what ever we want them to say so long as they remain in office, but they never change their ways!

I was thinking the other day since the DC Sniper is in the news again (sentencing) He should have targeted politicians... I think that would have made them do their job correctly.

which is why we should hang those liars, and have a revolution, and then we can replace them all with....with.....more politicians! :cantlook:
Did I mention hanging anyone. Are we not trying to get a revolution going now? Or are you a politician and afraid the people might hang a few. So you think you can strike a deal with a politician and actually come out ahead? Which one of those great politicians we now have are you willing to trust you whole future on? We don't need politicians, we need Americans who believe in the Constitution and aren't bought and paid for already. Glenn's ideas are ok, but we have to put ground rules in place so they don't become politicians for life. But if they do go against the Constitution, then IMO it is treason and in times of war (I believe we are in a war with our government) treason is a crime punishable by death. Changing 1/3 of the congress will only lead to them becoming infected (read - part of the problem) by time we get the others out. Hence the need for a revolution and a complete change at one time. If we try to do it on their terms nothing will change, but maybe that's what you want.

The answer is simple,

Replace your politicians with your representatives. We put them there it is our doings. But then some may argue by logic to "prove" it impossible and there is no hope.

Why insist on proceeding to destroy one of the most valuable of thoughts in all the world?

This country is not a place, it is an idea and if belief in the thought dies so does the country.

Country, Republic one and the same. If our Republic has failed then there is little to fight for outside of survival, such a world to pass on to those that follow us is our choice?

The Republic must work we have no other moral possibility. Friends that is hard work to achieve. In fact the most difficult path.

None may not know the exact path to that end but we may try what has worked before in dire times. Get together and talk to people that love this idea of a free Republic, are willing to learn how and willing to do the work. You may not agree with every one of them, its unimportant, you know they love the same idea and that will bond Americans every time.

Unified Americans have shaken the world, will this same people choose not to save the most valuable idea in the world? Are we that stupid?

maybe i want anarchy....

I'm just not willing to be so delusional as to think that replacing politicians will lead to anything signficantly better than the shatpot we have now. One thing you guys continually overlook is the fact that once your little party is over, and you have (optimistically at best) gotten rid of the evil politician, you will have millions of people who don't quite see eye to eye about how to run the country next. There are those on the extreme left who have been advocating, even trying to mount their own armed revolt. One name that comes to mind as an example is the ever vocal Zack de la Rocha. When the lead starts flying, that dude will be next to you, probably tossing molotav cocktails at 'the man' whilst you struggle for the freedom you pretend you will have. after the dust settles, if you're lucky, you freedom fighters will be fighting amongst yourselves over how the country should be run. More blood will be spilled as the common citizen struggles for control. naturally, a "leader" will emerge (through force) and the country will be worse off than before, weakened by some sort of internal war and less than unified under a new government run by "non-political' leaders (yeah right). you who talk of revolution have no idea what you are asking for. you have no idea what capacities man has for brutality against his neighbor. I believe that many of you believe that revolution is coming, and that you believe that its morally right. but i think that you don't understand what you are getting yourselves into, and that you grossly overestimate the ability of the 'masses' to get back to the constitutional limits that you hold dear. revolution will only lead to anarchy and destruction. personally, i relish a good show.

"It's gotta start some place, It's gotta start some time. What better place than here? What better time than now?"
The call to action? Excellent thought, perhaps enough will see that with action there will be no need of the call to arms?
