I loaded and shot some 200 gr. cast SWC with 11.0 gr. AA No.7 and because I didn't have any standard primers, I used CCI 350. I shot 9 of them and had no flattened primers. Not even started to flatten. Recoil wasn't bad either. What do you think?

I read all I could find on using a Magnum Primer substitute and the most conservative estimation was "reduced powder by .5 grains" and the opposite end was saying "you will gain about 50 fps with any load"
I wouldn't worry about it, sounds like you already shot these anyway

On a less than maximum effort load, you are likely safe with the same powder load.

Been there, done that. (Never got the Tee Shirt). Best practice - start over with minimum load and shoot a ladder until you see/experience pressure sighns, then back of .3 to .5 graind (in a hand gun). I have ended up with a reduced charge that shoots just as well for .45ACP, 9 mm, and.38/.357. Do your own research, don't take my word for ir. What do bulldogs know about reloading!??

Substituting magnum for standard primers is something that has come up in pretty much every gun/shooting forum I'm a member of again in the last 2 years, where some report no difference while others say there is a slight increase in FPS.

Taking a look at the reports where someone actually got out the chronograph and performed a test where the primer was the only thing changed I noticed a trend. For the reports of no difference, the powder being used tended to be one of the faster ones like 700-x or Bullseye, and the ones that reported an increase used something slower like CFP Pistol or HS-6.

I'll admit there really is not enough information to draw any conclusions on this. The tests all cover too many different cartridges and charge weights. It could just be the difference in the charge weights is what's causing this, where a faster powder usually has a smaller charge, and not the burn rate.

FWIW, I've loaded 230gn FMJ over 4.2gn of 700-x and noticed no difference between CCI #300 and #350's, although I did not chrono the rounds since getting permission and setting things up at the public ranges I go to is a royal PITA.

Good "anecdotal" datapoint.
The folks around here are quite conservative and I don't recall this question coming up in the last 9 years or so. That's because it hasn't been this close to being necessary I guess...
