My local pawn shop has a used Marlin 30-30 with a Bushnell Banner scope listed for $300, but I think I can get it for around $210... assuming it is in good shape, is that a good price?
That's the truth... :'(
But they are incredibly well engineered guns, the modern large bore Marlin lever actions and Browning BLR's are the closest thing to them, and they are 70-80 years newer.
99s are perfect for lefties as well as they are totally ambidextrous compared even to a BLR or marlin. my original 336 is as close as it gets as ther is no "handed" controls like the later models had.
I wish they were that cheap here. I would love to have one.
I have the savage 1899 in .22 Savage Hi Power but only take it out once a year for a couple of rounds. I think I've put less then a box through it in 7 years.
