Not a hunting pic but I hunted for this Type 53 for a decent priced Type 53 for a long time. Finally traded an Enfield for this one.
Well not really. It has what looks like a field repair to a crack near the butt plate and the rest of the stock is pretty beat up like you would expect for a T53. But what bothers me more is how the trigger just rattles around when it's not cocked. When it is cocked it's dangerously light. So I gotta YouTube some Mosin trigger job/repairs.
Is this a trigger spring ? When I had it apart it looked like the trigger spring was just a flat piece of steel held down by a slotted screw.
It's an auxiliary spring as designed by the Finns. The Mosin needs help in the trigger department.
I do also have a trigger fitting service, here: http://smith-sights.com/services.php
Cool. I'll check it out when I get home. Do you do the bolt turn down jobs as well?
I'm sorry; I do not turn down bolts. I've thought about it, but ultimately, there are too many folks out there doing that.
